I made these basics the other day after buying this flour formula L. I did it exactly by the directions and this is the closest thing to a Hardee's biscuit that I've ever had.

I consider myself to be a decent cook, but I have always struggled with making homemade biscuits. They usually always come out too dry and hard. I made biscuits using Bizquick a few times, but didn’t care for them. I then started buying the Pilsbury southern style frozen biscuits and gave up on making my own. Taking the advice from someone at church I went to the grocery store got the Formula L and some whole buttermilk and made them. I couldn’t believe how simple it was to make and how absolutely great they tasted. Folks, if you struggle with making homemade biscuits like me do yourself a favor and use the Formula L recipe. I promise you won’t regret it.

I would love to see your buttermilk biscuit recipe with shredded butter. That's how I make mine. It is so worth the extra 5 minutes of shredding.

I been using this Southern Biscuit Furmula L for a long time but Walmart here never heard of it so I took my bag to them and they started to order ,it a big sell here

The "L" stands for LARD...i found this mix about 3 years ago n I make good biscuits. I had to order my first bag off line. My Grandma made best biscuits rver. She squeezed her biscuits thru her thumb n forefinger.

I have something easier than that formula L with buttermilk .. an old lady told me I didn’t need buttermilk.. water makes for a lighter biscuit 😮.. I’m known for my cheese biscuits in a restaurant setting.. I was #2 she was #1 in our area when she told me she’s used water with the formula L biscuit mix my jaw dropped…. And I’ll never do buttermilk in my mix again

When I first married, I made my own biscuit mix and kept it in a huge Tupperware canister. Since I found this mix, I use it! It is good! I make a full recipe and freeze half before baking. I bake them off 4 at a time in my air fryer.

Be careful as kneading your biscuits to much causes them to turn tough.
