Southern Food Travel Guide: Ole Miss Food in Oxford, MS at Beacon Restaurant Best Burger Search

In this episode of our Southern food travel guide we enjoy diner food with a burger and the “Big Bubba” hamburger steak at the Beacon Restaurant in Oxford, Mississippi. The Beacon restaurant opened on April 15, 1959 and is considered the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Oxford, MS. This Southern food restaurant is very popular in the area for their breakfast and lunch service. The Beacon Restaurant is located in Oxford, MS at 1200 North Lamar Boulevard which is about 5 hours 21 minutes and 350 miles from the New Orleans French Quarter. This restaurant has been offering affordable fresh food for decades and has been a popular place for Oxford and Ole Miss diner food fans. It has been announced that the owner of the Beacon Restaurant is retiring and unless a new owner can be found it will unfortunately be closing in December of 2024.

Ole Miss is set to have more students than residents of Oxford next year... how is that going to work? They are having $100 cover charges and insane traffic for home games... it used to be such a nice small school now it is a mess 😩

I go to dentist in Oxford. Next time im up ill check it out if its open still. There is supposed to be a really good Italian restaurant in oxford my uncle told me about. Cant remember name i think it starts with a T

Pizza Den (I have a video on them) is a long time favorite and I'm on the rugby poster above their order counter 😀 The Pizza Den folks also have been talking about retiring and closing down... 🥺 The only "T" Italian in Oxford I can find is Tarasque Cucina and I've never been there or heard about it until I just looked it up now. It has a good review rating.
