This recipe is great! I have never made a pie in my life and this thanksgiving my in-laws requested me and my hubby to bring a pecan pie. So I followed this video with a store-bought crust, then used 3 eggs and 2 tbsp flour instead. My in-laws LOVED it! The pancake syrup is a brilliant idea. It’s a simple recipe but it tastes absolutely delicious!

I come back to this recipe every year and it's never done me wrong. I don't like it too sweet and when you said you used pancake syrup I started using the Butter Lite syrup and it's perfect! Everyone always asks me to make it every year.

Here in Northern California English Walnuts are so plentiful (lots of orchards) that we oftentimes make a walnut pie that has the same filling. Love them both.

Odd story but true. When I went through Air Force basic training I ate nothing but pecan pie, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Long story short, you'd think I'd hate pecan pie and yet it seems like an old friend to me. I'm going to say hello to my old friend and give this recipe a try. Thanks.

Hmm, good but needs more pecans in the filling. My Grandma used to FILL her pies UP with pecans! (that's the truly old-fashioned country way!)

Perhaps in the south where pecans are cheap. Up here in the north, we pay $15 a pound for pecans so we use them sparingly. ;-)

@L H same with n.east i make great baklava but its like $40 just for the nuts i use almonds and walnuts $10+ per pound with a $1to$2 difference between the 2 nuts
