How did it get swamped if you don't mind me asking? Glad your alright, I bet thats a story to tell the kids/grandkids later in life. Cheers!

We stayed fishing after nightfall, and a storm formed. We didn't notice it until it was right on top of us, and the waves were just too big for that boat, so we flipped. A little bit careless on our part, we should've seen it coming, but we live and learn. Luckily, we were able to swim back to safety we're fwc picked us up.

KUDOs to you for retrieving the jon-boat and reaching out to see if anyone had lost it. All of this adds up to positive Karma points -- which we all know it is better to have a posive balance than a negative one. It might be a mild mash-up but I would like to say, Live Long and Prosper- Young Jedi.

You remind me of a one-man band! Very impressive how you handle fishing, driving, videoing, and narrating all at the same time!!! My son and I went offshore today, caught so many red snapper it wasn’t even funny. Especially not being able to keep them! Would be nice if they open the season to more than 2 days a year in N FL.🤦♂️

Bro, have you ever tried "no alibi" trolling feathers? Don't look fancy, cheap to buy, but get them skipping down one of your wake waves, they catch like crazy, especially for ceros and kings. They do good at like 6-8 mph. Blue and white my favorite color. Around the patch reefs, cero macks guaranteed the trick is getting them to skip across the surface just right, adjust the weight with your speed. I know world wide carries them

Try trolling the larger zmanpaddletail and fluke. Drop of super glue at the jighead and it won't come off... and the elaztech isn't really bitten through.

I feel your pain bredda... I've spent 3 hours untangling my braided line. That shit is expensive and I refuse to throw all that line away. I'm at 100% for untangling so far. When I'm done trolling, I let out line without anything attached to take out all the twists. Those twists make it easy for the line to get all knotted up into a bird nest. Love them yeller tails. I get shit for using wire leaders but I still catch fish when I'm trolling. At least I don't lose as much tackle 😂 That John boat looking in good shape. Nice catch I mean find 🤣 Glad you got in touch with the owner. Good karma 👊 Good to see the Boat Daddy app kicking in. PSA: don't be kissing no king fish 😂 Cheers mon🥃😎

That first fish did not look like a small kingfish, but a Spanish mackerel. Also, real coffee lovers never run out of coffee. A good tip as well, keep your coffee in the freezer. It makes it taste so much fresher when brewing.
@miamiwax550421 сағат бұрын
Heiko I troll for muttons around Miami in my kayak, and only use lures for muttons when I fish the bridges in the keys. Also I see guys in Puerto Rico who use topwater for muttons on their shallow reefs. I think you can slow down a bit, I don't think u need to troll so fast over the patches. Suff like xraps would be good too. Lighter 3/4 or 1/2 oz bucktails.

Heiko, dive plugs work best under 4mph same with spoons, at least for salmon on Lake Michigan that is… we would do spoons, dodger/flasher and flies, jplugs, and those style plugs at like 2.5-3.5 mph depending on current. We also used down riggers and would find where they “sing” hum a nice tone and that was typically the best speed. Not sure how these method would work for the fish you go after tho

That is a cork screw jig head. Next time screw the rubber bait on verse pushing on over the screw. Your bait will not ride down until it wears out. Great video. Don’t forget your life jacket.

I’m curious as to why you keep the boat moving when you hook up trolling? Is it to keep the line tight so you don’t lose the fish or is to keep the other lures from sinking? Always wondered that. Did a lot of fishing but it been trolling like twice in my life.
@JenniferNavas-ht5pxАй бұрын
My thoughts are it's like the same concept of land/shore base fishing, Like, when you have to walk the shore line while reeling the fish in, to prevent the fish from unhooking itself, because If it's not tight, they can get off, and if the fish is in close enough range to you, you can catch a lure to your face instead 🤣
@ZacharyJones-nz8upАй бұрын
@@JenniferNavas-ht5pxfrom my understanding only done it a few times it’s to keep your line tight so it doesn’t go slack those fish out there are really fast and if they swim at the boat they can come off
