@@dfwaviation2066 am not sure if it is the case with this plane, but i remember taking off with it from Gatwick, and the amount of time it took from being lined up on runway to being over the clouds was staggering, and it managed to do it without any discomfort!!, sad with the 900 news let's hope this plane has a calmer future

I had only been on classics with southwest, but I flew again after 10 years and got on a max 8, and let me tell you, that was quietest and smoothest flight ever! My connecting flight was on a 700, still quieter than the 500s I was used to.

Oh yeah, they try getting much higher sooner to avoid a lot of the traffic in the airspace as well. It's also quite a good perspective.

Just got off a Southwest flight from HOU to JAN on the Max 8. Very quiet engines, especially during final descent, but that pilot must have been an ex fighter pilot. We were airborne in half the time. Sure, we were about 15 minutes behind schedule but damn! I didn't know a 737 could accelerate that fast.

Looks like you had the Whitestone departure--always spectacular with the 360 degree altitude climb--those on the left side of the aircraft will have a gorgeous view of LGA as you make your way west. Interesting the WestJet arrival at the Delta gates, may be part of the SkyTeam alliance--noticed how the pilot turned on the fuselage lights as he crossed the runway than off and again on for takeoff. Did you overnight at LGA?

LGA always has incredible views all around the airport. As per WestJet, they have the codeshare. I stayed in New York two nights on this trip.

The initial climbout must have been somewhere between 2,500 and 3,000 fpm, but not for very long, since the thrust was reduced a bit to climb thrust at about the 13:00 min mark. Nice video anyway; cool view looking back over the wing at the runway. Keep up the good aviation videos. Happy landings.

What was happening on N2 Engine. De left N1 was on during taxiing but the second looked like in a constant half started phase, you hear the air to start the turbines and they are for a long time stationary but later during taxiing the engine finally reached enough ram to start working.

It was mostly on, they may have been that they were only accelerating the left engine. And also the frame rate of the camera and light makes it seems like it was also spinning slower.

I am really nervous. I have a flight on a 737-800 with Tui. Particularly the 737-8K5. I am confused as to if this 8k5 is the max model or the 800 model. Or are they the same plane?

It’s an -800. If it were the max, the full name would be 737 MAX 8. Also, there is nothing to be worry about. Both the -800 and MAX 8 are pretty much the same, just slight visual differences and noise. Nothing has come up for the MAX being unsafe either. It’s been doing just fine since it’s return 👍

It's the B737-800, as PhorzaSky has stated, the Next Generation (NG) version. But don't be nervous, the B737 MAX is just as safe, especially after all the scrutiny it has been placed under. Enjoy your flight! 😊

​@@tjpyrotechnics2255 Mate, this is obviously a MAX. Larger engine (CFM LEAP-1B, and it has the scimitars. "Flap that hangs down" flaps are totally different things...now, both the NG and MAX have split scimitar-lile wings, but these are MAX winglets. Ask any 737 pilot.
