The Hague convention is an international agreement for children's rights and among others to accept custody rulings between member countries. Say your Cuban wife kidnaps your son Mike jr. to Cuba, you go to court to get temporary custody and then invoke the Hague convention to get Mike jr. returned to the USA. When the child has not been taken out of the country, international agreements do not apply and you have to go by your state law

@@michaelsteere1640 The Hague doesn't actually make rulings as far as I know. It depends on how well the two member countries work together and how deep the kidnapper spouse digs their heels in. People can make themselves difficult to find sometimes or they hide the kids with relatives. Best case scenario, authorities find the Cuban wife and tell her that she can take Mike jr. back to the US or he's going without her. If she chooses to return, she may face legal problems for the kidnapping but she may also fight for custody in a US court.

The Hague convention is a real thing. It says that the courts where the child normally lives have jurisdiction, even if a parent has taken the child abroad. It doesn't mean actually going to the Hague. However it doesn't apply here because the child hasn't left the country.

If the Hague won't help him, then I'm pretty sure Proxima Centauri B has a rights convention that accepts applications from Earth. Of course, it'll take minimum of 9 years to get there and back if you align your dish and start transmitting right away. If you don't have a dish you can send it by courier but that'll take probably 350 years each way.

I don't think that we've seen enough to know that. It sounded like he wanted to reduce his alimony payments. That's different from child support. That's money to support his Ex. We have another judge down here in Florida that does an absolute fantastic job at explaining the difference between and waiving and not waiving. He's being told the jist of the situation and doesn't get the whole picture. Just wave dude! If they dont come get you within a month then they let you out!!.... although you'd still have that warrant though.

It's also one of the wealthiest counties in the country, with a average income in the six figures. It's essentially a wealthy city neighboring Nashville to the south, while this court is in a rural city to the west.

Hague Application: "A request for the return of a child who has been wrongfully taken or kept across international borders. The Hague Convention also allows a party to request rights of access to a child when the parents live in different countries." The child in question had to have been taken out of the country.

I'm from Tennessee and guess what. Not everyone from Tennessee sound alike. Yes, some of us do sound like her but not all. We do have accents that many of others might not be able to understand.
