Wow indeed. Holy shit. Before they turned the cameras on, my guess is the judge said a quiet prayer to Saint P. Barnes, and follow through with a bit of intercession he did. Her Honor was thus created The Holy Instrument of Anti-Sovcit Eradication. Evil begone.

My sad observation on this clip, the judge doesn't repeat herself because of some personality quirk. It's a learned response from having to deal with the same types of people day in and day out. "I never heard that" "I didn't know that" "you never told me that".

I believe you are correct, and I find that a sad look at our society. Back in the day, we learned at a young age, that not listening would gain ones self a knuckle rap on the skull. Unfortunately, at my advanced age, I am once again a "selective listener" and probably need that knuckle rap once again. Please, no one give my wife that information!

I’m sure you are correct regarding the reason for her repetitive speech, but she has something special. Most people who repeat repeat repeat at volume incite their listeners to violence. Well, me anyway. I want to stomp them. But this judge repeats artfully! Each iteration is a little different in inflection and tone so it almost sounds like she’s singing! Sort of fun!

Wow! She needs to teach other judges at conferences how to do that. Just from that speech you know she has dealt with them before and understands they are just trying to delay and annoy the courts into dropping the case/reducing the charges and she isn't having any of it. However, the fact that she has delayed this court case so much is probably going to result in the case being dismissed or at least witnesses not remembering as much. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the complaining witnesses will show up and not just let her get away with it.

Initially some high-profile judges spoke out against Zoom Court. Their argument was the court could not discharge its duties properly because the defendant was not physically in a courthouse. Effectively rendering any sentencing moot due to the fact the defendant would have to turn themselves in after sentencing. Little did they know that it would give them a mute button AKA a contempt-of-court button.

And THAT is how it's done. I've gotten a few calls over the years from potential clients who spout this BS. I've always told my receptionist to let them know we don't deal with nonsense and aren't interested in frivolous or nonsensical lawsuits. I don't even know how many call or what they say, because we shut them down from the get go. Lol.

Fortunately as a private lawyer (I believe) you have the right not to take on a client that wants you to file a frivolous and or non-substantive suit. Filing a suit can result in you being sanctioned at a minimum.

"Logically", it could be far worse to not appear in court on a warrant than to go and try to make some lame and untimely argument about jurisdiction. They also do not read signs. Every state in the union spends millions every year on signs to help people navigate themselves through daily life without unknowingly violating the law but you can’t read signs when you’re face is pretty much constantly buried in a cell phone. A person who has never been in the United States can drive from NYC to Los Angeles just by being willing to read signs.

You should have stayed at home." "If you truly believe you are not that person indicated on that summons, then again, what are you doing here? Get out of here! Go home and the court will just let the law take its course." "Whoever you are, if you don't belong here, then leave right now!" "On the other hand..." This is great, Mike! We need more of these.
