Yes, we do reap, what we sow, and vice versa. And thanks for speaking about the finance of it of being a believer and also thanks for speaking about a person's heart about sowing and reaping.

I am from Bulgaria and last year attended a conference, where Che Ahn was one of the speakers. He talked about this topic and said specifically that you are not under a curse if you dont't financially sow. He also said that wherever you decide to sow, your church and pastors should be the priority.

Looking forward to listening to this. I’ll just give one thought up front. Having been in charismatic churches since the 70s… most of which taught in some form of prosperity. Which I happen to believe with some caveats. First and foremost, God being a good father is NOT keeping accounts in Excel and going to automatically give his children 100% return. Why? Simple. Many people could not handle it. Without the proven history of ability to manage money it would literally cause serious harm. As a side note, I think, and this is a theory, this is also why many people do not operate powerfully in the gifts. Imagine how it could go to your head if everyone you prayed for got healed. Some folks would quickly slide into a power trip.

Would you consider a discussion video about generosity towards people? I have tried to be generous to folks who ask and used that as a platform for sharing The Word, but found that people weren't necessarily in need of money, rather, help. Yet, some remain in a state of need so that people would continue to give money or etc. instead of making an effort to improve their situation.

I LOVE what you said about tithing!! Oh my goodness, I feel like this is so missed in our culture. All of our money is God’s money, not just 10%!

Great message as always!!! Money is such an important topic to address… also greed can creep in before we realize! But it shows a lack of faith. I am speaking from my own experience.

I have heard reaping and sewing as far as your children go. However, being pentecostal and raising all my children in a Godly home, church on Sunday am. Ss, and youth on Sunday night even Wednesday evenings at time I "expected" my children to love the Lord and walk in his ways. Nothing hurts more than a child turning their back on the Lord when we did everything we could to raise our children in Christian home , Christian surroundings, friends.

I know of many lost children that returned home to Jesus. Keep praying for and loving on them. All hope isn't lost.

I believe many evangelical / Bible-based churches teach a form of prosperity gospel as well. (Writing this in the beginning of the video - so not sure if you guys address this or not). Meaning to say, that in many churches people compare each others' jobs, living locations and cars to see who has been successful and who has not. They believe that living right way produces wealth, and though it is true to a degree, it should not be important for Christians. We should accept anyone from all walks of life in the churches! I like Dave Ramseys work to help people get out of debt, but Jesus will not ask, did you become a millionaire at the gates! He will ask, was I a faithful steward of what He gave us? And that includes money, but can't see that it would be His will for everyone to be wealthy.....

My pastor told a story of when, as a young man, he refused to take an offering from a very poor widow in his church, thinking that she needed it far more than he did. She responded with tears in her eyes, you mean you are denying me the opportunity to give to God? He fell to his knees and begged her forgiveness.

Wouldn't giving to the poor also counts? That's something we have literally been commanded to do

@@AnimeNutshell Being a pastor and being poor is not mutually exclusive many times, from a pastor's daughter. And the church should do both.

Good word guys! There was a time when the church actually taught "stewardship" or more to the point, "whole-life stewardship." The tithe in the Old Testament actually amounted to way more than 10%. Under the New Covenant, it seems to me, to be this: "All" of this is God's money. It's never a matter of how much we give, but how much we keep. Next I would like to add a few Scriptures to your dialogue. For example, Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9:11 (even thought they didn't use that right with the Corinthians,) "If we sowed SPIRITUAL THINGS in you, is it too much if we should reap MATERIAL THINGS from you? " Also, Paul says this regarding the Corinthian's eagerness to participate in the giving, "But now finish doing it also; that just as there was the readiness to desire it, so there may be also the completion of it by your ability. For if the readiness is present, IT IS ACCEPTABLE ACCORDING TO WHAT A MAN HAS, NOT ACCORDING TO WHAT HE DOES NOT HAVE." (2 Cor 8:11.12) Lastly, I love this one that is often missed in Philippians. Paul is commenting on the "gift" that he had received from the Philippians and notice what he says, "for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs. NOT that I seek the GIFT ITSELF, but I SEEK FOR THE PROFIT WHICH INCREASES TO YOUR ACCOUNT." (Philippians 4:15,17) And even better than this, Paul points out to them that the gift they sent to him is "a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God." (Philippians 4:18). Not only does this please God, but God views it as an act of worship! What an amazing God we serve!

Totally agree with what Rowntree said at the end, "It's all God's money and we're just stewards." I would disagree with Josh's take on Jesus classifying the tithe as law, as a careful reading of the text doesn't bear that out, besides the fact that Christ specifically endorses their tithe rather than telling them that they shouldn't. Also, I would like your guys take on the first mention of a Tithe being in Genesis 14, which puts it 300yrs before the Mosaic Law. I would argue that your local church needs your tithe monetarily, just as much as the Levites needed it agriculturally. I don't agree with the Prosperity Gospel, rather a balanced view of Biblcal stewardship.

Good discussion so far from what I’ve seen. This has been a topic I’ve struggled with having a balanced few on, especially when it comes to finances. I’ve heard some pastors say they believe a poor person can tithe their way out of poverty, if he curious to hear what other people think on this matter. I think I agree with the idea of God being pleased with the individual who chooses to give despite their situation, but shame on the wealthy preacher telling the poor individual to give to them. I don’t believe it’s a guarantee that just because you give a tithe you will get out of poverty though, I just don’t see how anyone can be guaranteed of that.

Sowing and reaping? Prosperity? Be prosperous in the Holy Spirit. The rest is vanity. For example.. Guy has a rusted crap car. Vanity. Guy has a new car with bells and whistles. Vanity. Be prosperous in the Holy Spirit instead. Amen.
