is there a way to reuse the stuff that is scooped out from the broth? or do people usually just throw them out ?
@nanthehousechef4 жыл бұрын
Usually just throw it away.

Mark Wiens just ate this in Thailand, his crab yolk looks a lot more yellow. Either way it looks good, I wonder if there's a place in CT that sells this?...probably not.

Great video! cant wait to try it! just wondering is there a specific way to drain it? can I just pat them dry? or leave them out to dry for a few hours? also how long do they last after the 3days? Thank you!
@nanthehousechef5 жыл бұрын
You should drain it by laying them in the strainer until water stops dripping, but not for hours! After the 3 days, you should eat them pretty quickly, if you want to save them - you can separate the soy sauce base from the crab and freeze the crabs in a plastic bag or wrap them. And when it's time to eat, thaw it in the refrigerator!

Hi, I just came across your video. Crabs look delicious. What size Glasslock container are you using for this recipe please? Thanks.

can I reuse the marinade for a second batch of crabs?
@nanthehousechef2 жыл бұрын
Yes. can use. For the second use, put soy sauce in a pot and bring to a boil. After boiling, it can be a little salty. Lastly, add a little water or cooking wine. You have to cool the sauce and put it in the refrigerator to cool it down before adding the crab.

Hi did you use rice wine vinegar and mirin or just Mirin where you said rice wine?
@nanthehousechef4 жыл бұрын
Rice wine is completely different from mirin. So if it says rice wine and mirin, you will need both!

Can you make these with frozen blue swimmer crabs?
@nanthehousechef5 жыл бұрын
You can use any crab! We use the Chesapeake blue crabs because they have a softer shell, so it's easier to bite into.

wait you dont cut off the gills and the flapper on the bottom when you are cleaning them? The gills is where all the sand and parasite are at.

Don't worry. Just cut it before eating.

Is it okay no oligosacchsride?
@nanthehousechef Жыл бұрын
You can also add sugar instead of oligosaccharides. Since sugar is sweeter than oligosaccharide, the amount of sugar should be about 40% less than oligosaccharide.

Why the Vodka?
@nanthehousechef2 ай бұрын
It doesn't have to be vodka. It just has to have a high alcohol content. It's for disinfecting.
@muhammadfakhri785 жыл бұрын
Omoooooo
@KimoKimochii3 жыл бұрын
Great video, but that vodka/sanitation part is pretty pointless. first there isn’t enough time for the alcohol to seep inside the crap to disinfect every surface area, 2nd, the soy sauce will pretty much to this job. It basically does nothing except maybe make you feel better 😂
