@@TheDaydreamSound Not just interesting. You know, I´d love to have an SP1200, but I´m just too stingy to spend more than 4000€ on that. The SP2400 seems to sound VERY close to the sp12(00), but costs less than 1000€... so it might be the best hardware alternative to me. On the software side I recommend the decimort vst by D16.

Hi-Res Mode doesn’t have 64 ppq, as you say in the video. It has 24 ppq. The 64 mentioned in the manual is in reference to there being 24 1/64th Triplets per quarter note. If you go into step mode in Hi-Res and move through the steps between each beat you’ll find there are only 24. And you’ll always find any hits you’ve recorded. At double tempo there are 48 ppq in Hi-Res. So at double tempo the smallest musical value is a 1/128th note triplet in Hi-Res, at normal tempo the smallest musical value in hi-res is 1/64th triplet note. Which is 1/24th of a beat.

What's up Stuart! Thanks for reaching out! That is what I was meaning to say. I do that a lot in my videos. Don't mind me. Their off the cuff studio musings. The main take away of the video is the concept of relaxing the restraint of the SP1200.

I have a zoom sampletrk. It’s also clocked at 24ppqn. The swing becomes bouncy at double bpm also. I always wondered if the swing is basically the same as 1200

The Daydream Sound the sampletrak also becomes gritty like the 1200 when pitched down. It’s not the same but similar at 16khz. You have 32-16-8khz. The best way to describe the zoom sampletrak is a cross between the sp1200, and the sp303.

Hi I keep coming back to your video for a few little brush ups as I’m fairly new to the SP world! Thanks! Just a random question: when I’m sequencing a ‘segment’ and say I don’t like the hi-hat pattern I laid down, how can I just delete the hi hat pattern only and reprogram it? Or do I have to delete the whole segment and reprogram it? Thanks !

What's up man!!! Thanks for watching!!!!!! It's definitely a different experience for sure. It's not as bad as it sounds though. Even though it's 24ppq it ends up working out to 48ppq because of the way the SP1200 handles the pulses.

Just curious if I lower the BPM on my MPC live to half the tempo would it change the groove
@TheDaydreamSound
@TheDaydreamSound 5 жыл бұрын
What's up Ty!! Thanks for reaching out!! Lowering the tempo would give the SP1200 a more ridged feel. This happens with all sequencers but it's just more noticeable with the SP1200.
