I remember back in junior high school when my teachers would talk about this. It was a fascinating and exciting time in the mid to late 1960's and 1970's! I deeply miss those times!

Another great retro look at the future of spaceflight. Many thanks. 24:56 Sadly for Bill Lenoir, whilst he was closely involved in the Skylab program, the closest he got to space at the time was as a member of the ground-based SMEAT (Skylab Medical Experiment Altitude Test) crew in mid-1972. He'd have to wait another 12 years for his one-and-only flight aboard STS-5 in late 1982.

Only Don Lind had a rougher time, waiting 19 years to make his one flight.

I am old enough to have seen all this happen.......really enjoy all your programs.

William Lenoir wouldn't fly until 1982 on STS-5. I spot both a UNIVAC 1219 and a PDP-9 computer!

I wonder when this OG narrator voice and style went extinct…I miss it.

Can’t help thinking Kraftwerk was listening and heard something they liked!
