If their speed limit is set to unlimited, the wheels can spin much faster than 100 m/s when not in contact with the ground. I find it more stable to set them to 360 km/hr, which will get you 100 m/s.

I gave this a try, and it definitely makes a difference. Great tip.

If you aren't opposed to using scripts, I would recommend a good gravity alignment script to keep it level. With that, you could even take things a step further and make an easy to use monowheel rover.

Those modes wheels will look sick with the new bike style cockpit the SE devs teased recently.

As long as you have gyroscopes allowed, you can make monobikes! I have made one & it's fairly easy to drive! Just have to pitch upwards each so often to keep moving, plus it makes turning a breeze! Just make sure you have enough gyros to keep the parts away from the ground & have up to half of them set to manual override & leave all the settings set at zero to allow the gyroscope to help keep the monobike level(please note that it will lower slowly back down to the ground so you must adjust the pitch level) normally, you'll need 4 gyroscopes for every 25k of weight(2 with manual override & 2 without) but depending on how fast you want to turn, you might want more or less!

Build your bikes using Armor Plates where possible. They're lighter and leave lots of room. Limit your wheel speed to 60 m/s. This is 134.21 mph, which for a wheeled vehicle in Space Engineers is fast enough. You don't need to go 1,000 mph.

Love these! You should put the hover bike (upgraded #3) on the workshop too!

Currently working on the land speed limit. Installed the unlimited speed mod and reached 273 before it loses contact with the ground for over 3 sec. That challenge follows the no wheel rover. The kangaroo craft was fun.

That sounds like fun.

I loved the hovercraft! Have you ever tried making a large grid hover craft?

No, not yet, but I don't think it will be a huge difference.

Can you recharge the batteries on any of these?
@Fnaffan_-tc2so3 жыл бұрын
Not in an Traditional Way, unless you use an 1x1 Connector Mod. But you can slap an Rotor on the Bike and an Small Grid Rotor Head on your Base(or a Recharge Rover) Position the Bike so that you can Conect the Rotor to the Head, but be VERY Careful bcs that method might summon Clang and then the Hole will Desintegrade
