Space Engineers - Risky Business (Hard Survival)

Zero-G hand mining with NO JETPACK in Space Engineers usually isn't a good idea. Also I've no idea if this ship can land successfully.
This is Space Engineers, except we've got permadeath mode turned on, Jet pack and Auto Heal turned off, and no 3rd person view. We're using daily needs survival kit...on Pertam, it's super dark thanks to the Sequence Nebular Skybox.
I'm doing this Space Engineers playthrough with all DLCs and a few mods that make SE even harder. Watch the first episode for a full mod and settings list.

@@Psy-Prime I got rid of our last space hopper last year, my German Shepherd decided it looked at him funny. Used it for fixing my back for over a decade haha.

I feel your pain psy done a play throught before with no jet pack and no space suit and only small grid it was fun but a bit awkward when the mag boots stopped working , aweome stuff by the way always fun

You should probably extend the landing legs down. So if you drop real hard, the first thing that hits the ground isn't a thruster.

Probably. Don’t wanna make it too tall though. No jetpack to get in with.

Ramp should be beyond engine so it breaks first if you hit something. You also might want some small thrusters for forward thrust so you can turn off big ones in space.

Not much risk of breaking the engines really. Either Im going down hard or Im under control lol. I definitely plan to add some smaller thrusters for forward thrust next time.

for aiming your missiles you could use a script like ExcavOS to gravity align your rockets...

Thanks! Yeah I’m aware of that one. Gonna try as low tech as possible but can fall back in scripts if desperate. I’d like as many of my builds as possible to be as helpful to console players as to pc players. Even if I do script them up after I get a basic version working. Lol

Maybe if you had a ramp that could extend would help.

Would be nice! 👍🏻 but would have to be flush with the door to prevent mag boot issues. Not using any helpful mods unless absolutely necessary.
