Totally forgot i was watching a KSP video. This was properly impressive, you feel like the 4th astronaut in that tin can.

A massive shout out to Ace V, Cody, Kamren and Ryan, it is thanks to these guys I was able to take a long week end off of work to try to finish the series before the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landings. I Hope they will soon be joined by more Patreons so we can do even more.
@HebaruSan5 жыл бұрын
When they were talking about landing in the blue part or the brown part... that made me realize that Apollo wasn't really fail-safe. If they needed to abort, they would still have to plan the landing to come down in the right spot. Whereas the shuttle lacked survivable aborts at launch but had greater cross range capability on return.
@Warriorking.19632 жыл бұрын
I think I read somewhere the Apollo Command Module was perfectly capable of surviving landing on land. After Apollo 7, which would have been a major problem for the crew if they had came down on land, the seats were changed and, while they would definitely have felt it, there would be no real damage done to the crew if such a landing occurred. Landing in the water was still the much preferred option, but in an emergency, coming down on land would have been perfectly fine.

Impressive, just two things: 1- the 3rd stage has 4 separator thrusters and not 3. You probably watched the misleading separation of the saturn 1B 1st stage separation where there are only three. 2- why don't you use the cone shaped service module (SM-6A) for the nose of the command module?

I think I what I'm saying is true ... I think...
@GameplayReviewUK5 жыл бұрын
Thank you I thought it had four then a video showed it to have two then, like you correctly guessed, I knew the IB had three :) I went to use the cone shaped service module first but it didn't like the way I wanted it staged so I resorted to my older method which I made more actuate than before to make myself feel better ;)
