Rocky I & First Blood are great movies. The soliloquy at the end of First Blood is brilliant acting. Stallone throws it all on the table. He left nothing back. Rocky has this weirdly charming innocence to it that's impossible to imagine today. DM is a good action movie, wicked social satire and prophecy. That's a rare riefecta. Diehard in all its infinite awesomeness is not trying to make any larger point other than theft & murder are wrong. Predator may be veiled, or not so, criticism of US Central American, um, adventures, but the movie doesn't dwell on it. Demolition Man is a warning - don't let corporate jackasses takeover everything or you will regret ir. The script was right. We didn't listen. And we absolutely regret letting Woke-Corporate asshats take over (almost) everything that matters.

Hot Take: Wesley's portrayal is one of the best onscreen renditions of The Joker. He's a complete sociopath who is very calculating. There's a method to his madness. While he's a great fighter, his greatest asset is his mind. He sets Stallone up in the opening scene. He's able to break into the computer database. He's the most intelligent of all the henchmen. He also finds a way to circumvent the popes restrictions so that he can be completely rogue. All while getting joy and pleasure from committing random acts of violence... add face paint and green hair and this is top tier Joker material.

I think The Fifth Element had the largest ever indoor explosion that started a massive fire on set. And nowadays some movies are even forbidden for adults, when there is political incorrect language in it. I mean even Dumbo is not appropiate for kids AND adults anymore, because there is ''blackfacing'' in it - so they say. fun fact about this movie: there are 2 versions of the movie, an American version, which has Taco Bell win the Franchise wars and the European version which has Pizza Hut win it, so in the European version of the movie, the restaurant they eat at is called Pizza Hut and as you can see in this video, this is clearly the European version, because at 9:23 when it switches over to Sandra Bullock, it says Pizza Hut on the window

The movie is unironically avant garde. I hadn't seen it since I was way too young to see it back when it came out on VHS, and omg the retroactive nostalgia brought on by a movie treating the 90s like a distant past while simultaneously getting a lot of things right about the future (through a dramatized lens of course) was an absolute mindtrip in 2021. Even the nudie call Spartan gets is being cast from his handheld device to the TV in his room. They predicted dongle casting! How??

One of the coolest movies from the 90' and certainly one of Stallone's best. Any chance to review his filmography ? Like Judge Dredd, Cliffhanger, Cobra, Tango & Cash.... ?

We don't talk about Rocky V, let alone his taking off his helmet in the 90's Dredd movie. They never happened. 😉 As long as we can maintain that delusion, society won't collapse.

@@zoopdterdoobdter5743 Judge Dredd wasn't that bad. Yeah, sure, he takes the helmet off, it's a bit cheesy, Rob Schneider is a useless comedy side-kick moron and some FX are dated but overall, it is an enjoyable movie - and I find it way better than 90% of the crap made today. The 2012 Dredd with Karl Urban is effing good (and he keeps his helmet on). Too bad it didn't get a sequel !

Then i found this channel and have been laughing my ass off all through the night. These videos are going to get me over the hump. Also, i was a teen in the 90s and it was as awesome as this movie. And no actress today was as hot as 90s sandra bullock.
