SUBSCRIBE TO WATCH MORE OF OUR ADVENTURES AROUND THE WORLD!
Our first how to in a long time. In this episode we take you through our process to cross the Mediterranean from Spain to Morocco with our Motorhome (RV) affectionately named lemonade!
Our crossing took us from Algeciras to Ceuta, but we originally were booked to Tangier. It was a crazy rime.
Thank you to "Carlos", whoever you are, for arranging al of the paperwork for our selves and our motorhome to cross into Morocco.
www.viajesnormandie.net/situac...
Also, thank you to Sarah Crofts with veedubadventures (veebubadventures.co.uk) for all of your amazing insight for getting into Morocco.
Welcome to our European (and now African) Motorhome family adventure. Videos from our destinations are shared to show the glory of full-time family travel. You can also follow our travels on Instagram, and Facebook (links below).
We love connecting with new people from all around the world so we hope you will subscribe to our channel and comment often. Over the next two years we will be traveling to every country in Europe in our MotorHome (except Iceland - that would be hard). We will be adventuring, working and educating our children over the two year period. We’ll be capturing our adventures as we RV all over Europe. Let us know where you are from and share your thoughts and feedback!
Welcome to WorldTowning. Join the whole family, Jessica, Avalon, Largo and Will on our epic journey of discovery through travel around the globe. We are digital nomads who find new life and love through travel every day.

What is the craziest Border Crossing you have ever done? I think that this was an mild one with the motorhome. I can only imagine what they are going to go like once we get into Eastern Europe.

Ceuta known as "sebta" in local language , actually was a Moroccan city until it got under the Spanish colonization. although to us Moroccans sebta, it is and it will always be a part of our homeland .

About the Morocco-Western Sahara thing : There once was a time when France occupied parts of Morocco (althout technically it was "protectorate" not occupation). Prior to that they had been in Algeria since the 1830s, and by the time they had gotten to Morocco, Algeria was already a French Department. Among the Moroccan lands occupied by France was Tindouf. Tindouf was near the Moroccan-Algerian border and, upon occupying it, France made it a french territory and included it in there nearby department/territory: Algeria. Fast forward to when the moroccan resistance freed the country from the french protectorate(and other things: there was just nothing more to take and moroccans were very angry), and after that, when Morocco helped Algeria get their independence, the french officials were like:"Do you want us to give you back Tindouf before we leave Algeria?", and the moroccan officials were like:"Oh no thanks, just get out of here, Algerians are our brothers and they will just give it back". Well...It didn't happen as planned. See, Tindouf was geographicaly in the Moroccan Sahara, which was back then ocupied by Spain, and that made it an area of interest. Now, just a couple of years before Spain left the moroccan Sahara (what is mistakenly and wrongfully called Western Sahara), the Polisario Front was founded in Tindouf. The Polisario Front, short for Frente Popular de Liberación de Saguía el Hamra y Río de Oro (not to sound paranoid but that is spanish for what is presumably a SAHRAWI organisation or whatever that is), started claiming the Sahara was theirs, and just as Spain left the territory they started claiming that Morocco is occupying their lands. And two years after Spain left, they formed the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, from their headquarters in Tindouf (officially in Algeria...Do you see how, geographicaly and historicaly, it makes no sense?)...and one more thing: The Polsario Front was founded by MOROCCAN rebels who hid in Tindouf under Algeria's protection (and supposedly Spain's as well), and most of the founders have now left the "front" and are back in Morocco or in other countries where they sought exile. It is, as you wrote it, complicated. It was made complicated to remain complicated.

It was a border crossing for sure. We have done several and they never disappoint for drama. In this case, the change in the ferry was part of it, but also the fact that the border inspector caught us recording was a little but harry. We got a little bold for our britches.

Hi Guys! Another keeper video! 👍👍 i didnt realize you were taking Lemonade into Morocco. Decades ago when I went we were on a bus at the border crossing in Tangier and everyone who had a middle eastern or Israeli passport or stamp was ushered away by military types. One of the scariest things I have ever experienced as a traveller. Once across I fell in love. I hope you get to see the “blue people”. Btw Will...when I was in Cuba and had to pay for extremely limited internet access World Towning was one of the few yt vids I watched (of the 30 odd channels I subscribe to). Thanks for all your hard work. 🥇👍

Thanks for your undying support Brenda and for using valuable data on us! Lemonade would not let us get away without her. Actually we considered just getting a riad and hunkering down in Marrakech for a richer experience, but then we thought of Sunshine! I don't think we could have taken him across the border in a backpack. It is bad enough we had to leave Dronie behind. So far we love it here!

I don't think you have a choice. It is a long extremely dangerous road back from Morocco to Europe if you go by land. Maybe a plane??? You seem to do Ok on those. :) I truly know the feeling. I would not suggest taking the ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam in the winter.

you guys are so brave,so Carlos is the main man?,i was watching with baited breath as you went through the border, now this was 26 years ago but going into Romania was rather scary, firstly the treacherous mountainous crossing where like every few feet apart were roadside memorials{not to scare you}and then for miles and miles all you see are cars waiting,we luckily were in a tour bus so we weaved our way through with quite alot of upset from most of the cars, giving "gifts" to all the border patrol and when we arrived in Romania the camp were we were going to stay was now a refugee camp, anyway long story short if anybody can you guys can.Prague was stunning.ps love the kids hair,Largo remember to visit Count Vladimar Draculas holiday castle in Romania, actually Transylvania,AND lastly not least come on more subs and have a great time.

Ahhhhhhh - the drone. We are seeing things and driving through places that would be amazing to shoot from above. Please please watch out for the helpful guys who sell you the sim cards. They are happy to give you a hand swapping the card out in your phone. They also make a quick copy of ALL your information on the phone while they do it. If you pay with credit card, they will of course copy all your card info as well. Just sayin....be really careful with those gentlemen.

All the secret underground operations run like this. Ha! Actually so far most of our experiences here have been "cash only," I hear it is pretty typical here. Maybe that is why the guy at the border thought our 50euros in our pocket was not enough for Morocco.

still in this world today Spain which colonized the Moroccan Western Sahara and the kingdom of Morocco recovered it thanks to the green march but Spain also colonized the north of Morocco the cities sabta (ceuta) and Melilya the small islands remained colonized in 21siecle remains still a Spanish colonizer in Africa in the north of Morocco, you passed by these two colonized cities, you helped the colonizer directly and indirectly and you say that you like the kingdom of Morocco, so let's see, you always stay western with a colonizing mentality.

No the french didn't bring anything new they just brought back their version of what they learned from us many centuries ago in Al-Andalus (now Andalucia) which was part of the Moroccan Empire. It had paved roads, street lights, sewage system, villas neighborhoods, universities and palaces in the time when the rest of Europe was fully in the dark and muddy cities of middle ages. All Europe's royalties went there for the highest levels of education back then. They don't like to talk about it (especially frenchies and spaniards :) ) but it's fact, instead they spread misinformation that they taught others what they actually learned from that golden era of the Islamic open and tolerant land of al-Andalus.

Since this video was released, we have learned quite a bit. The tolerance of the Moroccan empire is what impresses us most. It is a great quality of a proud culture. All the best!

(Was editing my comment, glad I didn't delete it) We'll be waiting your comeback, you're the nicest people I've come across on YT to have visited my/your country Morocco whom it's culture got positively enriched, in the past and nowadays, by visitors like you! May Allah bless and guide you and your wonderful family!

This is the last comment before we call it a night. The commenting process is the best part of the channel. It is an honor to create a forum where you can either be praised or criticized for your interpretation of an experience. We had an amazing journey in Morocco and we are thrilled that the people of Morocco are enjoying the journey. Time for rest. Good night!

They have been doing that for years. Even the authorities know about that and they allow them to do it. They do mostly money exchange, but they're open to anything that can bring money, especially in the north of Morocco ( Cannabis...) lol

Dude, we learned nothing from the French. Learn a little bit about the old Moroccan empire that existed long before the French. if you want to dedicate a show to help other travelers, make sure you know the history of the places to go. And yes, Google is not a the ultimate source. it's full of decent info and lots of garbage as well.
