When searching for a cruise vacation, we looked for places and ports we had never visited. We assumed the travel agent and or cruise booking agent wouldn't send us some place we weren't wanted. Ship size wasn't on our radar, rather cost and destination was number one. Older ships are usually smaller and less expensive and you receive great service and food. Going forward, we'll certainly do a deeper dive on the tourist sentiments from locals in countries, regions, and cities for the next vacation. It's a big world; lot's to see.

I went to the British School of Valencia and my classmates and I speak Spanglish when we see each other. It's easier cause sometimes the English word pops up in our head before, therefore we just speak like that and it's good, cause we all understand it. It sucks though when you're with other people who don't speak English and you forget the Spanish word...they look at you in a weird way when you say an English word

I lived in Palma for nine years; I think this is a good thing to limit tourist property licenses and cruise liners

"bolA". A Canadian friend of mine with absolute perfect Argentinian accent asks for the "cuento" in restaurants. May I have the bill? but says Can you bring me the tale? It's sounds nice and we understand. As you do with us

Just returned from a few days in London where the weather was absolutely amazing; I know, shocker! Two observations since my last visit...Madri beer was seen every where and no one seemed to be put off from the flood of anti tourist messaging. P.S. I have to add, although I enjoy a doble here, nothing beats a proper pint; this from a NYC gal/an adopted gato. jajajajaja Have a good one.

I found a disturbing tweet on Tweeter, with a screenshot from the OK Diario that Spain is prepared to receive up to 2 million refugees from Gaza. I searched the site, googled the internet but wasn't able to find anything about the subject. Have you seen it in the news?

In NY, Spanglish has been in existence for what seems like forever. I agree it usually happens when speaking one language or the other and it is a way you bridge the gap and/or in the case of my friends and family, you get overly excited when talking and to get the message across you go back and forth to whatever language expresess your sentiment best. We used to joke about it but now I see it has really come to the forefront.

When I was an exchange student in Madrid in 1983, our Spanish teacher did a discussion on Spanglish. Guindows for ventanas, pipas for pipes. Question for Stu: does he speak Spanglish at home considering he’s bilingual?

Re spanglish. We recently visited Boston and New York. The areas where we stayed seemed to be all "spanish" .A lot of the shops had spanish signs,and most people in the streets seemed to be of "latin" descent.

Love your content and commentary. Not sure how "Spanglish" is being defined today. I remember that term floating around in the 70s among Latino friends and family. It had nothing to do with being bilingual but just an indication that someone couldn't (or wouldn't) fluently speak either language. For example, some of my nieces can't speak Spanish while their parents can't speak English. LOL. Spanglish became popular after a certain movie came out. A language it is not. A way to communicate, sure.

Is anyone else experiencing spam from correos? I have ordered merch in the past from the US or other countries and lately, my work colleagues and myself do not receive the merch and then receive texts that are saying they are from correos but are in fact false asking for perosnal info.
@christinecleavest90997 ай бұрын
Yes! it happened to me a lot last year. I almost fell for it since the email looks identical to Correos. When you get the notification click on the sender address and then details...you often see a dodgy email address listed, that is when you know it is a scam.

Hi there ! Me again.... just wanted to point out, that an island is only sooo big. eventually they run out of capacities. normal...i stopped traveling to islands in any country, long ago. mainland is cheaper.no ferries needed, more possibilities, less likely victim to overtourism, easier to get away from in case youre fed up...or an emergency, and i guess there are more reasons to avoid islands and typical tourist destinations. what strikes me funny though is that , the very same people complaining about tourism today, are the people who suffered in the corona crisis. people tend to forget rather swiftly, i suppose.... best regards J.
