Yes do another one use a bunch of narlest grain stuff you can find. Then you also have different colors of waxes and dyes stains and finishes. Green poplar redwood purple hart zebra wood red oak white oak black ebony rose wood try to butterfly the grain to make patterns in the board

BEAUTIFULLY original. As are all of your projects. Thank you so much for the gift of your talent..I can't stop watching these 3D board builds. I close my eyes and I see the Fibonacci sequence and the patterns you've built. I've watched all of these an unhealthy amount of time... LOL..jk..I think one of my favorite parts of your entire build is that "clack" "clack" "clack" as you put together the milled wood and glue it.. And I can't forget when you put the oil and beeswax on at the end... The incredible patterns just jump right through your camera to us. My favorite new channel KZbin. God gave you some amazing talent that you share with us. I live on a small island off of the Eastern Shore of Virginia called Chincoteague Island. Island life is nice and slow!!

Beautiful board! I love the design choice you made for the pieces, too. The classic style and colors go great with the board and they turned out beautifully as well. I'd love to see you do more chess boards.

Don't know how easy it would be to create, but I think it would be awesome to build a board with a design similar to that, but the board itself is actually a box where the inside of the box can store the chess (and checker) pieces. I love the way that you found a great way to use what wood you had laying around to build this. I'm certainly of the mind that the squares on the board only need to contrast. What colors/patterns they are doesn't really matter unless they clash.

You did a fantastic job on board #1. I would love to see another chess board being made. Maybe more traditional wood like cherry, or paduk, or ebony and maple with accents from different woods. Again, congratulations on a very nice chess board.

Good work. I think your 2nd board should have darker squares. The spalting looks awesome. Recommend using spalting again combined with a darker wood like walnut which would compliment each other and really make it pop. If cutting wood playing pieces out with a cnc or a laser is an option vs carving (lol) I would go with that.

Great music during the 3D printing. Perfect setting in the woods with the music makes you fell like you're back in the middle ages. I like the chess board, maybe a little more contrast between the squares would be better, but still playable.

Great work. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with how you made this chess board. In fact, I was amazed by how great the spalting looked in the end. The rings vs. spalting made differentiating the squares of the board quite nicely. But, if I were to offer one idea to improve the end product, maybe a thin line of walnut to accent the grid of the board, with a slightly thicker inlay on the edging. Another thing you might consider is a clear coat on the chess pieces. Alternately, I have seen some amazing things done with an epoxy dip or acetone vapour box with 3D filament prints.

This is a really cool build! Every time I see you build something it gives me that sense of “hey I can do that too!”. But then I look at “ALL” of the work that goes into these kinds of projects and say “awe, next time”, or “maybe when I have some time”. 😂 As a fellow wood worker I know the amount of work that goes into these projects, from milling, to assembly, to finishing (x2). And it’s not a walk in the park. But if you love doing it, it’s not that hard at all. My dream build is doing a chess table, with storage drawers for the pieces. I’ve seen one at an old hotel lobby in one of the local towns. Every time I see it, I think “I’m going to make one, one day!”. I will make one. But not now with the slew of projects that I have on the board right now. Good job on this one!!!

Try using tree supports for more intricate models like those pieces that look more like minifigures that you printed in red/black/white and also the on build plate only checkbox, I find that usually works better for more intricate models (I usually use tree supports for every print over standard supports because I find they're usually a lot easier to remove) Another suggestion I have is to use a prime tower when you're printing multicolor, it will equalize the pressure in the nozzle after the old filament has been purged from a filament swap and I find gives cleaner results and leaves less of those small straggler pieces attached where the first layer is being printed after a filament swap. I know Bambu Labs sponsored your last video where you showed your printers off and while makerworld is a great place for finding models I would also suggest checking out printables for models when you're searching for a model (Printables is by Prusa Research which is another 3D printer manufacturer that's been around for a long time) As someone who's been building 3D printers and printing stuff since 2011 I think it's awesome to see you using them in your builds! I'm an amateur woodworker and I just wanted to say your videos are awesome and super helpful! If you have any questions with printing I'm happy to help, I run all of the Bambu printers in my print farm as well as printers from a few other brands for things like resin printing.

I can't get rid of the feeling that you always buy too small. 🤨Seriously, Husqvarna 120? You can saw with your hand! I'm looking forward to the video next year with the STIHL MS881! 😁 I don't think maple and walnut are bad, it's just a classic combination. I could also imagine a chessboard made entirely of walnut, the light-colored squares cut from the sapwood of a plank. But if you want to go crazy, how about redwood and apple? Or purpleheart and cherry. Greetz from Austria, the land of exploding trees! 😀

I found some really great looking spalted material and decided to make a cutting board. Big mistake. I had arranged the patterns in the wood to form an image of a dragon. When it was all done it looked great, sad thing is, spalted looks great but after two uses it crumbled. What you did here will hold up forever.
