You mentioned a few times that there is something slightly off about the Taylor ham. Judging by the ingredients it could be slightly fermented hence the Lactic acid starter culture, listed. Just my guess.

Happy Thanksgiving Xeta! They all sound salty. I like a ham steak once in a while. Ham steak cooked in butter. Cubed up small, sautéed in butter with peas, onions diced small then tossed with ditalini pasta. Everything is about the same size. That was always a quick and easy dinner to make after work. Of course then you sprinkle some pecorino romano cheese on the pasta. Looking forward to the next episode.

In Jersey it's Taylor Ham and Trenton Pork Roll. Taylor Ham is smaller in diameter and more highly seasoned while Trenton Pork Roll is "sweeter". Both make for tremendous sandwiches with egg & cheese on a New York hard roll..

There's ZERO difference between "Taylor ham" and "pork roll," except for what local people call the end product-they are the EXACT same thing, and we all buy from the same two companies in Trenton and call it what we call it, regardless of the producer. The fact that the creator of this video ate pork roll unfried is making me lose my mind. That should NEVER happen. But you're absolutely right that pork roll is delicious.

I think to get the best taste test would be to take a drink of water in between bites. Rising out the flavor of the previous food would allow you to taste the next food better because if you didn't, the tongue would already be accostomed to the original flavor. It's the reason why if you eat something sweet first, then eat an a sweet orange that's only mildly sour, the sourness is much stronger.

At least you have more than one to choose from, only other is pressed ham and spam here. The pressed ham is soooo nasty it used to be good but they changed it years ago to much fat. And then there’s spam. Yeah spam and eggs, spam sandwich, spam and noodles of some sort but that’s it. Usually a sandwich for me maybe once every two years. But if the apocalypse comes I guess I’d eat more spam.🤣🤣🤣🤣
