I like this hyper-speed technique! It works as promised, making normal speech seem slow by comparison. I often adjust the speed slower the first time I listen to Spanish dialogue on KZbin or audiobooks in Spanish so I can focus on the words, their construction, and their meaning. Once I have the meaning figured out, I'll return the speed to normal, or, maybe now, to hyper-speed and then back to normal! Great tip!

I’m so proud of myself that I understood this at all speeds with my eyes close. I’m on level B2 Spanish but the problem I’m facing most is actually speaking. I have no one to practice with so unless I talk to myself I can’t really practice speaking Spanish. I can understand if it’s being spoken to me though, but again that depends on where the person is from. Caribbean Spanish is still like another language when I listen 😂 Thank you for this video Rocky ❤️

Spanish rap music was a great suggestion. In the book the loom of language it states that some languages are discreet, that is defined as separated into it's component parts; such is ingles. Each word is spoken separately but spanish is indiscreet the words are spoken together. Until I understood the difference between discreet and indiscreet I hard difficulty learning Spanish.

When I practice listening in Spanish, I set the speed to 2X. I focus on listening to the words, not necessarily caring about understanding what is said. If I can hear Spanish words at hyperspeed, normal speed sounds nice and slow. I can finish a 1-hr audio in 30 minutes, getting the same amount of content in half the time. Doing this at work, you could finish 2 6-hour audiobooks in 6 hours. In my opinion, forget about understanding the content, but focus on hearing the Spanish words. Once your vocabulary improves, when you set the speed to normal, you will see a huge difference in being able to follow without translating what is said in your head.
@hellogoodbye4402 Жыл бұрын
Does this work with most languages?
@confidencemagnet Жыл бұрын
@@hellogoodbye4402 it might. The goal is to focus on seeing if you can hear words instead of a blended mess when you start listening to the language at normal speed KZbin also allows you to speed up videos. You can do this with interviews as well. Audiobooks are more formal and tries to annunciate each word. Interviews with musicians talking about pop culture or addressing rumors will talk with slang and tend to blend their words more.
