Thanks guys, for me these are the clearest and easiest lessons on the net and this video particularly offers a very clear explanation and a way of remembering of ser and estar. Your explanation of por and para is also very good.. I have some time to study Spanish from beginner level and I am slowly working through your videos as I find compared to others they move at a realistic speed and offer clear explanations. Great job, thanks again.

You two are fantastic! I always learn so much from you. I didn't know that mañana is masculine when it means tomorrow and feminine when it means morning. I also learned the word for stepdaughter ... la hijastra ... as a bonus. Thank you both! Feliz Navidad.

I am a beginner. I have been using multiple sites to learn Spanish. I love these videos. They add some explanations to things I am learning on another sight. I only wish there was a button to slow down the speaking conversation when you both talk to each other, because being a beginner it is hard at times to differentiate between words in another language. Also sub titles would help.

I’ve recently started learning Spanish and came across you’re videos. One of the best I have found for Castilian Spanish so I’m starting at the beginning. I am confused by the feminine adjective endings at 9.52 when Gordon describes himself as tall, thin etc. Would it not be delgado and alto rather than delgada and alta? It may be that this video is too old to hope for a reply but fingers crossed for some clarification. Thanks for the great work folks

Thank you, kraznaya! Yes, Gordon is indeed using the feminine form. I'll explain why: Gordon's using the feminine form because he used the word 'persona'. He said: soy una PERSONA delgada, alta... Adjectives must agree to their noun. The noun here isn't Gordon (although he's talking about him), but PERSON. Person is a feminine word, hence alta, delgada. I'll give you some examples so you can see: Gordon es alto y delgado. Gordon es una persona alta y delgada. Yo soy alto y delgado. (man) Yo soy alta y delgada. (woman) Yo soy una persona alta y delgada. (can be a man or by a woman) I hope that I was able to explain it well :) Cynthia x

@@LightSpeedSpanishChannel Perfecto, Cynthia, gracias. That is very helpful and very well explained. It seems the only time I learn grammar is when studying languages other than English. I appreciate you taking the time to reply and continue to enjoy your work.

In one grammar book, I found an explanation for the use of estar with muerte and cansado. The rule was that if the state was a result of a change in the past, estar is used. So presumably, you die after having lived, and you get married after having been single. Does this make sense?

You are the very best at teaching Spanish.... I truly enjoyed your lessons.... why is it that you pronounce the C as TH for example in the word hace calor......... you pronounce HATHE as in thunder in English..... je ne comprend pas????.... is it how we should pronounce the C when it is followed by an E....
@LightSpeedSpanishChannel
@LightSpeedSpanishChannel 9 жыл бұрын
Marcella Felice In most parts of Spain the C is pronounced like an English TH when followed by E or I. When in English you pronounce the c like an "s" we pronounce it like "th".
