I just fought last Saturday 10/03/2020 And I won 1st round knockout.. I contribute my win to watching these sparring matches... I thought to myself "if these guys spar this hard, then I should have no fear of getting hit this hard" .. No lie, even the english hip hop beat ran through my head in that split second when I threw a body kick.. thank you guys so much for uploading this stuff!

Great stuff as usual, my Shotokan classes are back on so I’m happy about that. We condition our fists by using the makiwara, you see the Shotokan way to fight isn’t really ‘fighting’ per se, it’s more based on the concept of ichigeki hissatsu which means to destroy your opponent in one strike. Old school Karateka have that mindset.

When you switch to full contact you'll notice you start to throw in 2's and 3's . I kept the karate style footwork and kicks, but switched my hands to boxing and became a bit more square when in orthodox when I went full MMA. When you play southpaw you can stay bladed

The thing is, you might as well not call it sparring, but an actual fight. The guy in white looks like he's going close to 100%. I saw his fights, he looks like he is going harder in these 'sparring' clips then in his fights. What are his sparring partners supposed to do? They come to spar and he goes way too hard. Should they turn it into a full on fight? He hits hard and if they hit hard, will it turn into a proper fight where you try to knock each other out?
@SiamBoxing4 жыл бұрын
he is a pressure fighter this is his style, and its mostly hard to the body. you need to spar with a variety of styles really its a good way to learn, no one as every got hurt to be quite honest
@londo04 жыл бұрын
@@SiamBoxing I'm just saying that it looks like he is going 100%, while he's sparring partners are going much easier. Isn't that counterproductive for him then? He's sparring partners are getting smashed and he gets a bit of a surprise when in an actual fight as he's opponents actually start hitting back.

@@londo0 there is a big mix of sparring partner at all different levels and styles which all offer different challenges. You don't see every round and some weeks are different to others. They all get the work. Guys like ammari get pushed too with the unorthodox or more technical guys so come fight night he is use to that and the same for them if they face a pressure fighter they no what to expect in some episodes you see him pushed by others who fight similar as well. There is a huge combination of styles that come to spar. The inexperienced are sometimes pushed hard there is a lot of factors to this but the key is that no one gets hurt but its hard work.
