You think spawl protection isn't an issue until you take a 5.56 to the plate and it fragments up into the bottom side of your chin. When it comes to body armor, I for one do not think that's a place in my self defense kit I would want to cheap out in at all. All comes back around to what is your life worth to you.
@stakincheeze26469 ай бұрын
I can definitely agree with you on one level, on another level though the truth is, most people who purchase body armor will never see a day of real combat or any sort of conflict. So it's more of a hobby or adult version of make believe. And to be 100% honest even if the time arose where people were forced to engage, it would be in such short notice they would either do it with No armor or if they never properly trained, spawl protection would be the least of their worries! Thanks for the input though, I appreciate hearing what others opinions are, you know the saying there's more than one way to skin a cat, so thank you!

Um.... that extra coating is vital...
@stakincheeze26464 жыл бұрын
Yes a base coat is important just like I said. Other than that the extra $50-$100 for the extra coating is not vital. The plates with the base coat will be more than enough protection for anyone in any situation. Unless you plan on standing still and getting repeatedly shot, without moving or flinching, you are going to be just fine. But yes if you plan on being the terminator and running head first into the apocalypse, then you might want the extra coating.

Sense you got the plates have you worn this carrier with plates for any length of time? I wear mine around the house for a few hours everyday so that if I HAVE to wear it the weight doesn't surprise me. Thanks for sharing.

Nice set up. I run mine with nothing on the front. To much load out makes prone a no go.

Do you think it's better to have mags on side
@stakincheeze26469 ай бұрын
It is kind of a pain but you get used to it after awhile, but you're right it is a love hate relationship lol
@stakincheeze26469 ай бұрын
I think it's best to do whatever is natural and comfortable for you. Some may like it on the front, the side, or as weird as it is maybe they like the back haha. Main thing is to to just train with whatever feels natural and then master that. I just learned to have them on the front from the military but if I had never done that and I taught myself as a civilian, then who knows I may do it way different than now! Thanks for watching

So what plate carrier is this? I’m digging the magazine set up. Did you have to buy accessories for those?
@stakincheeze26464 жыл бұрын
Yea I had To buy all the accessories, everything from the mag pouches to the patches. It's a condor plate carrier. They have a few different models that are great quality and not to expensive, anywhere from $60-$200 depending on where you get it. Thanks for watching

So I just found your video, I did go on the website and I was wondering how to do you find out what size the vest is? I know that I need a small one.
@stakincheeze26469 ай бұрын
Yea there's several places where you can get vests from and they should have sizing dimensions on them when you order. They should either have Small, Medium, Large, etc..,. or they should have a chest size chart, similar to ordering shirts. Just my personal opinion, if you're right on the cusp of one or the other I would suggest going down, rather than up, because unlike a shirt this is something that you don't want big or loose like a shirt. You want a nice snug fit, of course you don't want it so tight you can't strap it up but you definitely don't want a lot of wiggle room for multiple reasons. A couple being, more room for things to open up and expose flesh and another being if you're packing a ton of gear the bigger and sloppier things are, the more uncomfortable you'll be. Anyways I hope you got your setup and have been enjoying it, Thanks for comment and for viewing, I truly appreciate it!

Ummmm noooo. That's like putting an oreo cookie in the middle of your chest and thinking that little bit of cover will save you. Just protect the middle of the organs and disregard the side of the organs. No swimmers cut for me when that lead get to flying. 😅
@stakincheeze26469 ай бұрын
That's cool man, to each their own! Once real lead is flying though, I don't care how much protection you think is enough, it'll never be enough, but I appreciate the observation for sure, Thank you for watching!
I understand that point of view, but it's also worth noting that for most people without any proper training or experience in a fire fight, that little piece missing is the least of their worries. Also when it comes to a real fire fight, I can assure you that no matter how much protection you have, it's never enough! Most people are hobbyist and will never need their gear for a REAL situation, therefore the extra mobility and weight saved is a plus! And on the rare occasion they will need to use it FOR REAL, I guarantee they won't be thinking, dang I wish I had that other 2 inches. Thanks for the comment though, I always enjoy seeing what other people think and getting their perspective on situations.

#America lol. Guy is unboxing his carrier in a park with kids 😹. Also bro, the intro music is super loud. You should be able to balance it with a video editor.

It's my front yard, not a park. And you're right we are in america, so I will gladly unbox them wherever I feel like it. The joys of being free. Also why don't you stop trying to hate on other peoples videos and create your own channel and you can do it how ever you want. Thanks for watching
