Spartan GoCam Cellular Trail Cam Review

Well boys, welcome to the 21st century! My first GoCam is being decommissioned by Verizon because it is only 3G. It has been a work horse for the past 5 years, the only time it didn't send pics is when I knew to change the batteries. I will getting a mew version to continue it's job. The old cam will being commissioned for regular trail cam duty, which they will still do, so you OG's of cell cams, don't throw them out. A lot of life left in them a regular trail cams. Love my Covert cam, sitting in my chair and get a notification there's a picture to view. Cell cams really are great.

Spartan I have a question about phone app compatibility. After having spent hundreds of dollars to have several Bushnell cameras on my hunting property, when the new camera came out the app quit notifying us all together. Then when they supposedly fixed the problem, only iPhones got the notification. A year later, to this day any phone that's not iPhone will not send a notification to the phone. If I want to see what's been going on at the property I have to go on the app. According to Bushnell this problem is never going to be fixed and I've gotten the, "So sorry" speech. Is your app that gives the phone notification compatible with all makes and models of phones? Bushnell won't do anything for us to make things right and I don't want to spend all that money again to have this happen. We have a serious trespassing issue and we'd like to get live notifications again to be able to contact the local police.

Nice review, guys. I have several of the 3G versions and so will soon be checking into the 4G cams, hoping they work as well. Hope you can still request a photo in the INSTANT mode from the camera.

You aren’t going to get as good of quality with the Spartan GoCams as you would with just a regular old trail cam. For some reason, they just aren’t that clear

What’s the battery life like?

MarkRambo1 I have had mine out since early July and still on almost full battery. However, I have had mine at spots where it is not taking a huge amount of pictures each day. If I had it on a food plot or feeder I’m sure my battery would be draining quicker than it is now with increased pictures. I have not had the chance to test it out on a heavier used area yet. They do sell that extra battery box for $90 I believe if you are interested in checking it out.
