I dont like the fact that sparti guy kept fighting with shards of broken glass in his eyes. Thats never going to happen. Not when weapons are involved. Also the reasons you mention are the exact reasons why ninjas never operated in this way. They would gather intelligence on the person beforehand like what kind of armor, training or equipment they use and come up with a strategy to counter that. A ninja would never engage in a lose lose situation like this.
@mattjack39832 жыл бұрын
@@insalubriousdithyramb1742 I absolutely believe it would be possible to continue fighting with broken glass in the eyes. That doesnt mean it automatically blinds you. Its irritating and painful, but you can still see. I was in car when I was a teenager, and had broken glass in my eyes. It damaged my left eye pretty badly, and I had to have several surgeries on both eyes to remove small bits of glass, and repair damage. But I never lost any vision, and right after the accident, even tho it was very painful, I could still see and look around. I can easily believe that an actual Spartan, who has gone thru extremely brutal and intense training his whole life, would keep fighting after getting glass in his eyes. Unless he was actually STABBED thru the eye, I don't think that glass shards are going to be enough to stop the Spartan who is armored, covered by a shield, and an expert at full on face to face combat.

Even with the advantage of steel, I would still give it to Spartans based on the fact that they were elite and trained for war since children. Most ninjas were peasants and likely not as educated, trained, or equipped as the average Spartan. Ninjas were also seen as dishonorable in Japan which makes me think that very few (if any) ninjas were Chads, while Spartans killed you off as a baby if you didn't come out 100% Chad, giving the 1v1 edge to Spartans for sure. Spartans also fought mainly as a unit in phalanx formation, which would absolutely dunk on any ninja assembly. Not even close dude, even if you gave ninjas crossbows and halberds they'd still get rekt

At 7 years old Spartan boys would be sent off in the wilderness to survive on their own. They had to feed and shelter themselves and it was almost encouraged to steal but would get whipped if they got caught. They also had small rectangle mounds that would have food placed on top and be guarded by the teenage boys that survived and the young kids would have to come up with strategies to attack so they could get the food. They were as much of a warrior as humanly possible and you're right, not even close.

A more fair fight would be a samurai vs Spartan. A Ninja was literally trained to avoid the fight as much as possible because majority of them were low class farmers and peasants who just used their tools to survive. They needed to used stealth and trickery to exploit the weaknesses in samurai, but then again if you put a samurai (probably a highly trained warrior) against a Ninja on the battlefield . The samurai would probably win.

The historical accuracy of the whole "300" moment was actually really off. The numbers have been incredibly exaggerated, and the Spartans actually had lots of aid from their allies. I've read that the numbers were closer to 10-15 thousand greeks, not just spartans, and about 50,000 persians, which is still super impressive. But they had a big high ground advantage, which played a huge role. If they fought in the open, they probably would've gotten wrecked. Love the videos bro, keep them coming! Congrats on 200K subscribers, you deserve 100 times that!

I thought that the rest of their Allies where in different positions on the outskirts of Thermopylae. For the most part it was just the 300 in the pass itself?

It was the 300 and an extra 1,000 in combat, with the remaining waiting on the outside, but 250-500k is an appropiate guess for all of Persia's army that eventually showed up.

To be fair, there were only 300 Spartans. Spartan society revolved around taking a small group of the most Chad alphas they could produce and maxing their stats out as hard as possible with the best training and equipment available, versus a bunch of peasants with wicker shields.

@@Sick_Boy I agree. I think that gear was only a small factor... an elite ninja could slice in between the Spartan armor with precision strikes, but they'd have to be a REALLY skilled fighter.

@@jamesburchill7522 Great question. I never said I was an expert. However, I am a combat arms Vet, so from the military schoolhouse's I've attended, training, history, understanding modern-day battle tactics, having to learn historical battle tactics... I mean, the average American doesn't concern themselves with anything even close to that depth and I don't consider my training that deep to begin with. I wanted to know my trade, so I took it seriously, paid attention, and learned. So, while I'm no expert, I have more than enough training and experience to be able to have great conversations. Also... not every service member has the same experience. Some are Pogue's, REMF's, and Chairborne Rangers... most of these types won't understand.

The Spartan is larger in terms of height and weight. That alone is often a determining factor of who wins a fight, because 5'2 135lbs dude ain't hurting 5'8 165lbs dude with shit. The difference in ability to generate power between the two would be massive. To add to this. We're talking farmers who used tricks, ambushes, and sneaky tactics to win fights against better equipped, trained, and physically superior opponents versus Spartans. Spartans, they are born perfect or they don't live, they are trained from childhood and many died from that, only the strongest and most skilled live to not only adulthood, but to fight another battle.

Spartans were not born perfect , stop believing everything in 300. Sneaky tactics were used by the Viet Kong to defeat a technologically advanced opponent that is the US. I served in Afghanistan and Iraq, and even then a inferior enemy at least on paper were able to survive some of the most powerful militaries in history in Afghanistan. In Iraq once Saddam was over thrown, came the birth of ISIS , another rag tag group which is still operating to this day. Just because a society was raised to fight does not mean they could defeat everyone.
@Peaceisabeast2 жыл бұрын
@@JW-bu8bn They were born perfect, without defects or abnormalities, or they didn't keep them. It in fact does make a difference to practice combat your whole life versus only having fought and put skills to use within a few years. I'm also not going to compare modern day combat with ancient combatants, that'd be a fucking joke! Members of ISIS or Taliban, etc, used IED's, surprise attacks with rockets and AK's, etc. They were even willing to use innocent people as a courier for explosives. Let's not pretend this is the same as hand to hand combat or using simple melee weaponry. A Spartan's way of life was war. They learned from childhood and when they grew to have kids of their own, they handed that down. You don't live a life long journey as a warrior unafraid of death to lose to a fucking farmer with painted eggs. Again, remember, this is a 1v1 fight between ancient combatants. If you and I fought 1v1, similar archaic weaponry, and you've far more combat experience than I have. I'd fucking lose, because that's just how reality works in this situation. If we're given IED's, firearms, RPG's, etc, the game totally changes but that's not what the video is about and is incomparable to the situation.

I'm roughly about the weight of what they're saying a Spartan would be I find it a little hard to believe that a Spartan was under 200 lb if you ask me a Spartan back in those days had to have been at least two hundred maybe 200 10 lb in order to be able to carry and move perfectly with those types of heavy Shield I would say a small professional wrestler or a small MMA fighter that's heavy weight of small heavyweight would have a better chance at moving that type of Shield better than the guy that did it there no offense to them because if you move a shield like that against an opponent that doesn't defend themselves you saw how clunky and heavy it was what if that dummy was able to move and fight back or run away or try to resist and ask for help or something anything it would be harder

@@littlethuggie well that's not what I hear that's not what was said in the past there were some people Romans and Spartan specifically that were supposed to be bigger and stronger than the average person which sounds similar to what you would call and all around athlete or fighter whatever you look at your lot of your MMA guys lot of them are bigger than the average person but they're barely 200 lb it's not the weight usually is just the amount of muscle you have and how you use it but to believe that a race of some of the most powerful soldiers and warriors were only 170 or 175 or something like that that's a little hard to believe because supposedly these guys would be fighting giants and things like that and Spartans believed in Gods plural they didn't believe in God himself therefore statistically the only way logically they would win any fight is if they were bigger faster and stronger than the average person and the average person without training without exercise just simply work their ass off and eat is always usually between roughly 100 to 130 lb Max and that's if they eat well but somebody who trains who is paid to train and eat not work just train like a professional athlete those guys statistically should and would be bigger faster and stronger than everybody else simply because their job is to train when Sean Mike was in professional wrestling was only 230 lb he was the smallest heavyweight in America or at least one of the smallest heavy weights in America and he was still pretty damn big compared to an average person that was about the same weight as him but they just simply don't train they don't work out they didn't do anything other than work
