Today I had the honor for the 2nd time to sit down and talk with the Black Prince of Bodybuilding, Mr. Robby Robinson. Today we talked about how Serge Nubret was kicked out out of the 1975 IFBB Mr. Olympia in Pretoria, South Africa only 2 weeks prior to the contest effectively ruining his chances to win, only to be reinstated one day before the prejudging. As usual, he didn't fit the narrative for the film "Pumping Iron".

Arnold still had the same issues in spite of 74 being his best year. Today or in the 90s, the best era, that 74 physique would not even place top ten or even 20. More complete Physiques like Levrone, Wheeler, Cormier, Haney, Clairemont, Dillet, Shawn Ray, Labrada etc….. would eclipse Arnold by a country mile and really expose his flaws which were several.

Serge legs were huge compared to Arnold's chicken legs, and the waist was way skaller than the extremely wide and smooth waist of Arnold's. And the chest, was better than Arnold Schwarzenegger's, who modeled Serge Nubre while.being mentored by Serge Nubre and sleeping on Serge Nubres living room floor. Serge gotmarnold.started in the movie industry and introduced him to full chest development training. Arnold turned gay and betrayed Serge for his closeness with joe weider . Both Sergio and Robby couldn't even win the AAU Mr. America title before they moved to the IFBB. They were nobodies and Joe Weder took them and made them Mr. Universe champions, and in Sergio's case a 3x Mr. Olympia. The Weiders and the IFBB gave them the opportunity to make a living out of the sport and now Robby is biting the hand that fed him for so many years.

If anyone saw Pumping Iron you'd be forgiven for thinking Serge Nubret was a nobody, he was barely mentioned until the last moments in the movie. One of the greatest bodybuilders of the classical era was treated like a shit. The Weiders and Arnie messed up Serge Nubret, the same way they messed up Sergio Oliva throughout the 70s. Thats why Serge and Sergio ended up promoting WABBA, they were victims and had nobody to turn to in that horribly bigoted and racist era. Arnie in particular has fallen disgracefully in my estimation, he was one of my bodybuilding heros since the 70s. But after learning of his political scheming and the cut-throat way he coldly despatched of rivals who supported him he means nothing to me. The man is a narcissistic clown, and he was never the greatest bodybuilder of that era either. Sergio ' The Myth' Oliva was far superior, as was Serge 'Black Panther' Nubret, Mike 'Heavy Duty' Mentzer, and Frank 'The Chemist' Zane. There was even a well known scam that Joe Weider pulled in his magazines where pictures of Sergio Oliva at the '72 Olympia were deliberately doctored to make him look worse than Arnie to justify his 2nd place to Arnie that year. When in fact the German Physique magazines showed Sergios true condition was incredible way superior to Arnie at the '72 Olympia. That scam and the famous manipulative gesture that Arnie made as if Serigio couldnt take Arnies pressure at the show itself pulled the rug right from under Sergios feet. The Weiders and Arnie were really nasty operators, really quite despicable and unprofessional animals. You get a hint of what they were like in some documovie clips, but this is nothing. Imagine the things they said and did when the cameras werent rolling, and all Arnie could think about was Hollywood movie success and the body count he needed to rack up to get there... I shudder to think.

He should have GAINED weight (fat and H2O), not lost, because he would never have initiated T3 only after stopping training and strict eating. He wasn't insane, which he would have to have been to start T3 after quitting. I sold T4 for Abbott Labs for years, so I know a little bit about thyroid medications.
