Is this THE ONE? If not, what else should be added? UPDATE - YES you can get VRR from the PS5, you just need to set the resoltuion to 4K on the console (which the monitor accepts).

Some people are missing the target market here in the complaints. It is aimed at Competitive PC Players first. There are way more of those who want to get into OLED Market than Consoles Players that want a 32" Oled at 4k 120hz. PC players prioritize PPI, Refresh Rate, and Input Lag. That's what they provided here with what Display Tech is capable of. 4k/240 isn't quite possible yet without compromise, so they are taking highest market share first.

It’s due on how we create Oled panels and the limitation of it. For the short answer It’s hard to make oled smaller. Before you asked no Aoled is different and that tech issue is that it’s hard to make it larger lol.

This OLED was one giant pile of disappointment for me. The dimming and VRR flicker was incredibly distracting and annoying. The matte finish wasn't great either. I upgraded to an Alienware 32 inch 4K 240 Hz and it is everything the LG wasn't. Don't get me wrong the LG was decent, but it was underwhelming for me. This thing still costs between $800 - $1000. Anyone interested in this is far far far better off going with one of the 360 Hz QD-OLEDs from Alienware, Asus or MSI. Unless you can get it for a major discount ($600 or less), avoid it as there are now better options.

Agreed. With the high brightness who needs a matte screen? Give us a glossy screen instead for OLED or at least give us a choice. The endgame OLED for me tho is a 32" 4K 240Hz monitor. In the meantime I would even take 120Hz. 27" is nice if you sit closer or have younger eyes but I now need 32" hehe. I do admit that 27" would fit my current setup better but I could always buy a bigger desk right? 😃 Plus I actually sit further away from my desk as I use a keyboard tray.

@@iknowmyname7 OLED's average is 600 nits. Phillips is planning a 1000 nit OLED TV. That is very good for handling reflections and combine that with the fact that the PC environment is more flexible with window shutters/shades, movability. The problem is many companies are starting to release OLED monitors at 250-350 nits. That is simply not enough and there are more revolutionary changes happening in the TV market vs monitor.

All the worries I had with the monitor I think you've addressed. I was on the fence about getting this one, But watching your video helped me make my decision. Just pre-ordered one, If they ever release a 32 inch 4k version, I'll definitely pick up one of those as well. I'm using the Cooler Master GP27U and even though it's 4k and everything looks fantastic. There is noticeable blooming and constant flickering because of the dimming. I can get rid of it by turning off the dimming, But then that defeats the purpose of getting the monitor in the first place. The LG may not be 4k, But it seems like it doesn't really matter because the visuals more than make up for it. I'll probably end up returning the Cooler Master and just keeping the LG. 2023 OLED!

I just sent my gp27u back for a refund the blooming on text and makes it hard to read in game + you can't run it at 160hz at 1440p or 1080p then it fails to wake from sleep when I have my pc in safe mode the added input lag when you enable local dimming was my biggest drawback

Nice review, thank you. Looks like a great piece of kit from LG. Love the quality of OLED, the burn in risk is being managed well. However, I’d like to see more 3 year warranties, much like Alienware does. That gives a lot more confidence to purchase when you know there will be static elements on screen, gaming or productivity wise.

It's not essential if you start using proper brightness unlike most monitors stuck in 1999 with 250 nits and proper anti reflective treatment like on OLED TVs. Monitor companies still think the only way to tackle reflections is with milky paper. This monitor has a peak brightness of 1000 nits. Its average brightness performance is more than enough
