Hi, so I was looking at some stuff regarding Yellowstone, and portion of American will be covered in ash. But some parts of central, and eastern parts of America will get little to no ash. I live on the border of Missouri, close to Illinois, and I looked how far if Yellowstone were to erupt. I live over 1,000 miles from Yellowstone, so I probably wont get any ash, if so, probably little. Stuff like this fascinates me because events like this, other people might not be safe, but I'm over vibing like nothings happening over here lol. Also, I live on the fault line near the Mississippi river and the Missouri river. If there is any earthquake, it doesn't matter what it is on the Richter scale, all of were I live, will come to a end, plus, there is a 0% chance that no one will live. So I gotta look out for that lol

SwiftieRunner In an actual scenerio like this, If the Yellowstone supervolcano were to erupt the whole world would be screwed. And it would take much much much longer than a year to recover. The world would essentially be locked in a nuclear winter and most life will die due to ash clouds covering the sun, smothering people and plants or lack of oxygen. Not to even bring up any potentially hazardous facilities that may get destroyed and make it worse. If this volcano actually goes, nearly everybody will die. But it could always be worse, there are bigger volcano's. But yes, at least this has somewhat of a happy ending

Here's an idea. America looses a ww3 and issues a EAS-like surrender notice to the American citizens. What happens is that in the middle of ww3, whilst America is on the frontline in Russia, Britain severs ties with the special relationship which also means that Britain stops training American troops, this leads to America being pushed back by the Russians all the way back to Alaska where the American government decides to surrender.

Y’know what’d be nice? In the Chicago area, a train has derailed and spilled potentially dangerous materials like propane or chlorine, and has caused a major evacuation of the Chicago area due to these chemicals or propane spillage, and the propane being potentially spilled is ignited due to a heat wave that is occurring at the same time and date of the accident.

Not really. There's not a whole lot to be scared of just yet. It's highly unlikely that the volcano will erupt in our lifetime. It's entirely possible, don't get me wrong, but the chances are slim. It's projected to erupt between 1,000 and 10,000 years from now.

We are thousands of years overdue for a natural Yellowstone eruption so it could blow any seconds
@AmyraCarter6 жыл бұрын
Well, that was intricate. I'm going to be honest here; if ANYONE had homes within that 100 mile radius, they would NOT have homes to return to, like, at all... But I would be giving Old Faithful more credit than that; I'd be thinking more along the lines of the entire state of Wyoming, and parts of surrounding states as well. And THAT is IF the eruption was NOT an INVERSE eruption. What's an inverse eruption? It is where the main eruption flows underground instead of above ground. This happens quite often in the South Pacific, as well as the Hawaiian Islands, and even Fujiyama. It happens most often in the Arctic and Antarctic seas, though most of those eruptions are also thousands of feet underwater. Most inverse eruptions are microeruptions; they are less than noticeable and often don't register on the Richter Scale. In the case of Old Faithful, given the amount of magma exceeds that of any volcano by about fifty fold or so, an inverse eruption is going to cause massive tremors, and of course, increase of ground temperature by as much as sixty degrees initially. For soil, it will cause damage to skin, and to pretty much anything worn on the feet, but for cement, asphalt, and such, it will become mush and/or crumble away. Evacuating by vehicle would prove difficult unless you could handle off-roading. That scenario is actually as close to Best Case as it will get. In the Worst Case, the magma will essentially turn all surfaces either into skin and bone melting mush, or as bad as walking on hot coals everywhere, essentially sinking structures, vehicles, anything standing on it. Water is not your friend here, because like in Dante's Peak, it is likely acetic. I wouldn't even trust the ocean unless it is a decent distance from the coast. One thing is for certain, regardless of the type of eruption, the area that the magma lies under will be destroyed, whether by being blown into the sky, or sinking inwards as the magma drains into the underground. Yes, lots of fresh water sources will be lost. If you're in Wyoming, you're screwed. If you're in any of the surrounding states, your chances are slim. If you're a decent distance away, your chances are greater, but your best chances are if you're already at least a whole time zone away, or are at least halfway into another time zone.

cough cough I wish mate, if it dose ever happen, we will experience a "volcanic global winter", the entire world would be in ash for years, maybe decades, most plant life will die, farmers in bunkers with animals to breed will survive a little longer, but soon they will need to kill a parent animal. I also have been seeing a similar pattern in Yellowstone as it was in other super valcanos that erupted a while ago. So it will most likely erupt in the years to come, most likely in our grandkids time, but you never can know, it could happen this very second.
