Look up a channel called Rainman Ray’s Repairs. That is real mechanic work. By real I mean real world scenarios. This channel is awesome for car enthusiasts not for mechanic oriented students/carrier. Even if it has the aspects of working on cars, the end goals are 100% different unless you are aiming to work for a performance shop.

Well done gentlemen, and remember to use a timing light to check all four ignition coils are firing at the correct angle before driving it hard. Add a paint mark to the 'crankshaft' pulley so you have TDC for the second rotor. Adjust the trailing coils while watching, you don't want the trailing (top) spark plugs firing earlier than the leading (lower) ones.

Best thing about haltech is the tech line, when Haltech USA is closed in the evening the 1800 number connects to haltech Australia with the time change. I've had an Australian remoted in on my laptop a few times in the early am lol If you bolt the housing up to the flange it won't warp the flange. I do not like those flex pipes, make sure you check on it in the future if the car seems down on power.

Great episode guys, i do have some input tho. When i weld V-band flanges, i use the back-welding technique, to reduce the chance of warping. Anaerobic sealant cures with the absence of air. It works best in machined surfaces that will be mated together. I would have used a good gasket maker on the studs instead. Then i would have pressure tested the cooling system, while full, before installing the transmission. Either way, good job guys💪

Always wondered, it gets stated that you need a lithium charger for lithium batterys. How does the battery know what charges it? For example if it's charged by an alternator a lithium charger? Believe you don't change out the alternator for a lithium approved alternator?

That fuel color is likely from the addition of blue 2-stroke oil. And I hope to god you're putting oil in the gas before running this rotary. Made a world of difference on my FC, you can feel the difference in engine smoothness right away.

might want the double check total number of inputs if someone is choosing between the 2500 and 1500. Sometimes you have to get top shelf just to run all the sensors you need.You might not need the outputs for injectors but you can and may need to repurpose them. You way want to upgrade to a drive by wire throttle body and if memory serves you need the 2500 for that. Unless they have changed something.

Gasoline is dyed so you know what type of fuel it is. Green is used to designate it as unleaded gasoline. Fuel also has an expiration, usually about 90 days.

@anydaynow012 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing for a street car, but in the end it won't make much difference considering they are going to be running remix most likely and a rotary already has atrocious emissions when tuned properly (safely), plus how few miles this will actually see being a classic car and all (saying that just made me feel old!), like I doubt they are going to daily it.
@arongenesismagdayao38262 жыл бұрын
Green colored gas is a 91 octaine unleaded gas +2stroke oil
@MultiChimRichalds6 ай бұрын
Perhaps the greenish fuel was some pre-mix added to the gas for the apex seals.

You need to put 2 stroke oil in the fuel of a rotary engine to keep the apex seals lubricated

The fuel looks like that because of "premix" if u delete the OEM oil injection u have to do that, key to rotary longevity.

@xozindustries74512 жыл бұрын
The old fuel probably has two stroke oil mixed in it that’s why it’s that color
@josephmatuszak38552 жыл бұрын
The only thing about flex pipes with rotary is how hot they get in EGT. Flexible couplings like that expect 1/3 the life expectancy due to extreme heat. To reduce the wear, you must reduce the drivetrain from torque twist, i.e. stiffer mounts.
@josephmatuszak38552 жыл бұрын
I also (maybe just some crazy bone in me) use Idemitsu rotary blend oil for mazda rotary. Sounds odd, but they always seem to run just a touch better and it's a smell that is very unique to rotary. When I've use synthetic it oftens coats the entire exhaust system, and using other conventional oils seems to clump a bit.
