Love to see the true love for cars taking you out of your comfort zones, loved the episode overall. Particularly enjoyed the fact that you showed that you DO have to do your research to avoid catastrophic failures, and heck even then sometimes you get them. Just gotta learn from mistakes like anything in life.

I'd say this is perfect with the amound of knowledge you guys are dropping on us. I am speaking for myself right now, as I am a beginner in this and planning on rebuilding my SR20DET in my S14. I've also wanted to buy HP Academy's engine building packages for some time now, but I'll wait a bit more until I have the completed budget to buy the parts for the SR20. Also, the fact that one of the engines HP Academy is building in the videos is soooo much more relieving to know that now. I'd say the pace between knowledge and installing the parts is spot on.

There is nothing I didn't already know in this video, but I still think this is good stuff. Pacing is good. I'd like more detail, but I also enjoy building motors. I'm not sure how common that is. *Cheap cleaning tap: take your old head bolt and use a cutting disc to cut vertical grooves into it. Also, I'm sure anyone watching this knows, but in case someone doesn't: Jafro has THE definitive 4g63 engine build series.

Jeffrey Moore yeap used the cut grooves in and old bolt to chase threads method. Works a treat. Give a good soak in your choice of solvent then wipe and compressed air to clean and lube and run it again. Totally agree and I’m with I love the detail.

I think this was a good amount of tech and for me not too technical at all. I think it is helpful for people to see others that are not experienced engine builders learning how to go about it and what resources to use. Andre is an absolute legend, definitely a great resource if people. Overall I think this was a great balance of what it takes to put an engine together without reaching way beyond your audiences knowledge. Also, I like this because so many people do time lapses of the whole thing which really does a disservice I feel to those looking to build their own engine. My main complaint of those being that it really gives no sense of how detailed, what has to be considered, and the time it is OKAY to take when building an engine. It shouldn’t just go together in 20min. So, your time lapses were on point (a bit epic with the music but that’s just me) and you gave a good impression of what it actually takes.
