A limey Brit here !... Just two comments if I may...I restore vintage and only trying to be helpful ... Those Rogers have X-Over capacitors (Black body yellow tip) that are notorious for going short at this age and wiping out the Tweeter coils. 1970's KEF, Cambridge, Wharfedale IMF etc... all suffer too... my advice is have them swapped out before you have a bad day. No.2 I have Maggies, and room positioning is annoyingly, mind-bendingly irritatingly critical. Rear standing wave kills the bass response - I can demonstrate a 6dB to 9dB drop below 100Hz in my showroom ... they make me want to sell them on sometimes; but I can't when they are right - they can make the walls and ceiling melt away with their imagery.

Hi Dave, just got around to this today. We met at CAF and spoke with my wife included in the Geshelli room. Now to the vid comment. No script needed. You did swell. They seem like terrific speakers. Probably about a grand more than I’m prepared to pay today. I also have vintage v modern speakers. I have vintage ADS L710 and MoFi Sourcepoint 8s. I love them both but the 2 speakers are voiced opposite of each other. The ADS being smooth and beautiful in the upper mids and treble. The MoFi being open and super exciting but not fatiguing. Bottom line, I enjoy listening to both. I usually alternate them.

Acoustic suspension designs seem rare these days. These are outside of my price range. I don't mind the simple design. I came across a bunch of The Beautiful South CDs while thrifting lately. Good to see your artwork around.

Great stuff. BTW, I have the 1.7i Maggies. It will be hard for me to go back to box speakers. 😊

“Non-box” speakers are great: bipole/dipole, Omnis, open baffles sound like nothing else. Wide dispersion box speaker have similar sounds as do Maggie’s: speakers disappear and wonderful soundstage.

Awesome job, and a very comprehensive review and comparison. You really don't need a script.

Amazing bass from a sealed box. Never liked the SL6. The SL600 was considered to be their best model in their day. Much more expensive at around £600 per pair. Today I use pro monitors like the Kali IN8 or the AdamT8V. It would be interesting to see how these compare to the Gershman's soundwise.

Hi, Dave just wondering are you originally from Syracuse? Or you do you have ties to Syracuse? I noticed your hat and t-shirt in several videos!! Cheers and keep up the great content!!!

Thks for the comparison review of the Gershman to the Rogers & Celestion. I had the Rogers & Celestion looong ago & its really nice to see you putting them through their paces today. One thing to note is that the Naim nait5 is probably not the best amp for these spks esp the SL-6s which are pretty demanding on that aspect. The Rogers may not sound as open as modern spks but they still retain a certain charm about them. That midrange from the bextrene cone is something else. You should try a pair of Celestion 100 or the A1. But u may need to use the Bryston 4Bst to drive em to get the best out of em esp the A1s. I m sure the A1s will give the Gershman a good run for the money. Anyway nice review overall. Cheers.

The Nait 5si provides plenty of power. Will do some work on the Rogers. Thanks.

A couple of thoughts: 1) You might want to consider doing more unscripted videos. It seems to impart a more genuine feel to things! 2) From what I can tell, your musical tastes are eclectic (like my own). I have many of the same LPs you do. We could probably hang and happily play lps all day / night long. 3) I'm a sucker for animals and it was a pleasure to see your dog in that one shot! Please introduce him/her to us!

Do you prefer Naim or Exposure amp over the Bryston? I am currently using Bryson 4 B SST2 with CJ LS17 Mk2 and have great results using Totem Forest Signature with re-built Lenco. I wish I was able to listen to the Gershman but no dealers close to me.

Your comments/reviews are Not that long just about right. Most YT reviewers are overblown ie too wordy and elongated which make video far too long. A video which is about 10-20min is about the right length depending on what you want to say. Overall, a good relevant review. Modern speakers normally blow away the older speakers which give you "older" sound.

Just purchased the LRS plus and I don’t think I’ll ever listen to a box speaker again. Nonetheless there’s something to be said for a great two-way sealed design

Surface mounted tweeter is a big no-no. Gershman should know this. Flush mount is necessary to reduce diffraction. Major fail at this price point.

Been looking at speaker for years. Their website is wonky. Reminds me of the old adage of the broken pull down tray on an airplane. If that's the level of detail shown, can I trust the engine or wings?
