Well Chinese people living in America, and all over really, spent 2 years getting bullied because of covid and their government’s mistakes. It was really sad… So her saying that has even deeper meaning to me. They never know when some ignorant person is going to snap on them or be racist towards them for no reason. So hearing people like him speak to them in their language must feel like a blessing.

It's interesting how this content never gets old, even when he's just speaking Chinese languages with Chinese people, something he has done so often before, because each interaction is unique. Because of Xiaoma's content being based around interacting with real people, there will always be something to love. Come stop by the West Coast Chinatowns sometime.

I went to a Vietnamese restaurant in Canada back in 2022. I have a Vietnamese coworker who taught me a few words, although I knew a few words before from attending a Vietnamese church before. I went to sit down at the restaurant in Canada, waitress comes over and speaks to me in English, then I say ‘cam on,’ which means thank you in Vietnamese. She was so shocked and the look on her face had me dying. 😂 Then I speak a little bit more to my friend’s step mom who is Vietnamese and then I swear the waitress was gossiping about me in the sense I was a ‘white guy speaking Vietnamese.’ lol. One of the best memories and I hope I can not only learn more of that beautiful language but also see Vietnam someday. ❤️ 🇻🇳

I absolutely adore your videos, Xiaoma. I am learning multiple languages at the moment - Spanish, Japanese and Swedish. I hope to take on more in the future. I have memorised a few words in Japanese and I am still very new to Swedish. i've been learning spanish since the age of seven. my primary school introduced me and the class to the language and then my high school gave me the choice between french, german and spanish, having already learnt some, high school me chose spanish. i'm definitely not an expert and i'm still learning, but i'm getting better. i'm now at the point where i'm able to decipher sentences - it's making me very happy, haha. something that my high school spanish classes lacked though - was conversation. so i'm still struggling to actually talk in spanish. i'm very afraid of messing up and embarrassing myself or accidentally saying the wrong thing. you're very inspiring. I hope to be like you, one day. I love talking to people.
