I went to a Vietnamese restaurant in Canada back in 2022. I have a Vietnamese coworker who taught me a few words, although I knew a few words before from attending a Vietnamese church before. I went to sit down at the restaurant in Canada, waitress comes over and speaks to me in English, then I say ‘cam on,’ which means thank you in Vietnamese. She was so shocked and the look on her face had me dying. 😂 Then I speak a little bit more to my friend’s step mom who is Vietnamese and then I swear the waitress was gossiping about me in the sense I was a ‘white guy speaking Vietnamese.’ lol. One of the best memories and I hope I can not only learn more of that beautiful language but also see Vietnam someday. ❤️ 🇻🇳
