Speared Cold Smoked Uku - Cured Fish w/ Kimi Werner - Lox and Bagels Hawaiian Style - Catch and Cook

Kimi Werner recounts a recent dive of losing her catch of an uku to a frenzy of sharks. She returns to the ocean to try again and succeeds with a beautiful uku (also known as jobfish or grey snapper)!
She shows us how to make the Hawai’i version of lox and bagels by curing and cold smoking this beautiful fish.
She then meets up with her friends of Banzai Bagels ( banzaibagels.co ) and receives the most beautiful spread of fresh handmade bagels and all the fixings. Kimi, Buddy and Justin enjoy the most delicious breakfast feast by the sea! Lots of Buddy cuteness!

I'm 37 and my mom let me be a kid too. She trusted me to cook or be home alone and go out into the world when a lot of other kids parents wouldn't do that. I'm better for it. Thanks mom.

I've eaten alot of cold smoked fish in my day but when I saw you cut the uku and seeing the cross section, the color or the fish and the slight smoke ring on top...the nuances of perfection was all there. I can taste it with my eyes... Im sure it was beyond epic. Great job on the whole process! The catch and cook on your channel is top level.

ah shucks, after viewing this episode, we headed out to the north shore for some bagels and of course our son woke up late and the traffic just slowed us down lol so we didn't make it to Banzai bagels, however we did the Banzai bowls and look forward to getting some delicious bagels that somehow Buddy made us crave for it.
