Hey, I’m a 13-year-old who wants to get into spearfishing and doesn’t really know how and I was wondering if you could give me some tips on how to do it I’d Spearfish in Hawaii cause that’s where I used to live but when I moved to Oregon. I kind of stopped
@bigwaterguy16 күн бұрын
I would recommend you meet someone who’s dove out here and go out with them first couple times to learn the water, tides and locations. There is a good group on fb for this, Oregon Spearfishing

I'd check out if you have any local dive shops with your parents and see if they have any groups or classes... Great way to make contacts and get tips on what gear works out here.

Hi Vlad, Hey here's a tip on removing "Pin Bones" (the row of bones you cut out) After removing the skin, flip the fillet skin side up, make two slices at the tail end in two or three inches on each side of the bloodline meat, then pull one side of the fillet at 90° from the other while holding the fillet in the air, then grab the center piece of bloodline meat and repeat, we call this "Zippering". If the center piece break's or tears just make a new slice and pull again. We do this with Walleye and it removes those pesky pin bones with very little meat loss along with that bloodline meat! Takes a little practice but once you get it you'll love it! Works on Rockfish as well! Hope this helps! Love your vids, Merry Christmas, Doug,,,

The doctor would not order that… But you do you we’ve had so many discussions in forums about crab butter. Because you’re in the ocean, you’re probably safe but people in the bays it could be not safe…

Just be careful with the crab butter. If they've got domoic acid, that's where it is.
