Antonio Gravita FirePoAm Thanks mate! I was having lunch at that time so I wasn't prepared to catch this, otherwise I would have had my good camera and filmed on the ground. It only rained for about an hour, around 2 pm.

This makes me sad...just last weekend there was a giant ASEAN Summit in Sydney with all the Southeast Asian heads of state attending...but I didn't catch a single motorcade! I still managed a video, with footage of emergency services patrolling and even a big response to a protest march, but no motorcade. Same thing happened last year when Mike Pence visited Sydney and I didn't get one glimpse of his motorcade. Maybe just wrong place wrong time(again)... *sniff

000 Responses Haha don't sweat it man. Catching big stuff like motorcades usually takes a bit of planning (and luck of course). This video was just pure luck for instance, but now I know that most visiting VIPs will always stay at the Rex hotel in Ho Chi Minh City (you can get a motorcade there a few times a week). Just follow the news and keep an eye out for important visitors, then try to find out where exactly they will go, and try to estimate the most likely entry and exit routes (if you miss them arriving you can always catch them leaving). The roads leading to and from the airport will often be a pretty safe bet. Better luck next time!
