Warning! Within 4 months of light use my FANATEC McLaren wheel cracked at the shifter pivot point and where it mounted to the QR. I was accused of over tightening although I used a torque wrench set at 3nm. FANATEC then replaced the wheel chassis admitting in writing it was a weakness in the wheel. Very soon after my CSL load cell pedal failed. I sent a video before sending the pedal set back as requested. I was required to make a follow up email after not hearing back. FANATEC said they can not fault the pedals asking if I want then sent back which I found a strange thing to ask? Eventually they were returned however within minutes I experienced the same issue which was consistent with magnetic interference from the CSL DD wheel base before the load cell pedal would completely shut down. I was beyond my limits at this point and driven to warn as many potential customers as I could while demanding a replacement. Following the usual delayed response, FANATEC then offered a replacement only if a show proof that they faulty load cell was again on its way back to them. FANATEC’s poor response time drove me to desperation. Keep in mind I have owned this new product for around 6 months when 2 major failures occurred. An electric technician overheard my experience and offered assistance. I was able to demonstrate the issue and within minutes the technician diagnosed a defective voltage regulator attached to the load cell circuit board. The voltage regulator is designed to reduce 5 volts coming from the wheel base or USB down to the required 3.3volts. There was no signal out of the regulator which he replaced. No thanks to FANATEC I am now enjoying my sim racing again while I hold my breath for the next FANATEC failure. Please take my advise and look at the FANATEC’s own forum in regards to all the issues they have and their terrible customer service.

I estimate release of the DD for PC towards Q3 based on the ratio of "Thrustmaster tips" and for console Q4 or early 2023. Just estimations, we have no official roadmap of TM... Like I have done so far, I will keep you informed of the latest development via my channel.

Very good KZbin channel nicely done. You will be one of the top reviewers before you know it. I think logitech does not care about it sim racing line up. Bc they do other things that make them more money. They are more console focused and for a console there product reigns king.
@SimulatedDrivingResource2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words Mike. Your appreciation means alot! And seeing the (lack of) r&d they put in their wheels, you are absolutely correct.
@shawnforbes64952 жыл бұрын
I would have to disagree with them being the console king. Coming from a g29 for years to a thrustmaster t300 they are not even in the same class. Thrustmaster master is by far the console king. Logitech are simply basic starter kit. I wish I never brought mine and went straight to Logitech tech something with a eco system that can be upgraded.
@SimulatedDrivingResource2 жыл бұрын
King for me more in the sense of they don't need to try hard to sell their wheels. I started with a Logitech and so did everyone else I know just because it is such an established brand. My next video will be on that topic when i review G923. But you are absutely right. T300 is a much more immersive base than G29. Thank you for the feedback friend. 👍👍

@@shawnforbes6495 fact of the matter is, if it ain't broke.... Don't fix it. I've owned g27, g29, t80 and t300..... Guess which units failed on me.... The thrustmasters. You can call it starter kit or what ever makes you feel more elite.... But it's all that is required to be competitive.....proven. Now own a g923 and does the job.

Hi, the video is awesome! Can you talk more about the durability of both logitech and thrustmaster t300 rs gt? I've seen a lot of comments I came across while researching and it seems they are both bad and good at the same time. By that I mean is some people say TM broke easily and now using logitech for years and the other is vice versa of that. What is your opinion on it though?
@SimulatedDrivingResource2 жыл бұрын
Hello my friend. The main issue the T300 has is that the flexibele intermediate (the belt) causes a lot of heat. Now that would not have been such an issue if the power suplly was not included in the enclosure of the wheelbase. If you look at bigger brother the T-GT, it doesnt have the same problem that the T300 has. While the Logitechs are gear driven, they do not create as much heat. I have read many fora and the consensus is that the Logitech have an average longer life-span. My next video (hopefully released this week) is in fact a remake of this one with added info and a more professional look so perhaps it may be helpful for you. Thank you for the support.

would direct drive have a more realistic FFB? Every wheel I've tried, the wheel is always unrealistically hard to move and recover from upset. I'm guessing it could be the game doing that? I play assetto. I currently have a t300rs
@SimulatedDrivingResource4 ай бұрын
@@cutliss more precise the settings. You could probably make your t300 feel better by playing around with settings like damper for example. The direct drive will help with a smoother transmission and a more fluent and fast return to center but if the settings are not right, yeah, it will also not feel realistic. My advise is to look up "ffb settings t300 ac" on google. You will find some reddit pages that will provide you with some settings to get the max from your wheelbase

The T300 base is indeed more smooth and more powerful and you have a more broad choice for steering wheels. Only downside is that the pedals that come with the T300 are very mediocre compared to those that comes with the T248 (in a pack)

@@xavestudio4623 the T3PA pedals are on par with the Logitech pedals. I currently bought an R5 to review it. It is pretty good. Please check out the Fanatec offer too if it is available and affordable. I believe looking at the current prices, upgrading to a direct drive is more advisable than a T300. For 400€ there is a Fanatec bundle and that is cheaper than the T300 (of course depending on the region)

What exactly do you mean with discrete? Noise-wise it still makes sound. It doesn't have a fan but makes noise when the gears teeth slide into eachother.
