Hi Gajah, thanks for watching! Safwan was so very kind and what was so wonderful about Malaysia is that we found this kindness in many places.

Thanks Darren and Olivia, thanks so much! This means a lot, given that we think your editing is always awesome! You could explore Malaysia for months and we are constantly surprised that it doesn't as popular (with Aussies anyway) as its neighbours Thailand and Bali (Indonesia). It definitely one of our favourite countries!

Hey guys. East Coast Peninsular Malay looks incredible. Where do you guys recommend most on the peninsular? For the least tourists and most Malay experience :)

Hi Ellis, we found that most of the cities we visited on the East Coast had hardly any foreign tourists. Our favourite city was a toss up between Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bharu, but Kuantan was really good as well. Most foreign tourists head directly to the Perhentian Islands and Redang Islands and don't spend much time in these cities.

Kuantan is a sleepy city. Glad you visited Pantai Balok, but generally Kuantan and her surroundings are to be visited mid year, to avoid the monsoon season. The beaches are great and calm, and you can walk metres towards the sea. Food wise, there’s nasi dagang (quite a local staple food with rice, fish curry and cured vege), there’s sata ikan (eaten more as a snack, fish based) and keropok (fried fish paste snack). Kuantan is known for its salted fish, but many wooden shops selling them were burnt down (some time in 1990s??) Nonetheless, it’s something you can buy for ur next host, the only thing is you may need to get it refrigerated if you are travelling for than 3-4 days

Hi Andresloft, thanks for all your great suggestions. We hadn't heard about the salted fish and will have to try that next time!

Malaysia- one of the best of multi-racial country in the world. For generations , 3 major races Malay , Chinese , Indians, Sikh ,Sabah & Sarawak etnics, orang asli have been living together at peace and have freedom to perform or celebrate their beliefs , worshipping ceremonies open air in public respectively... They respect each other's culture and beliefs and try to avoid creating trouble or make a scene especially sensitivite issues ..This kind of scenario is not so often to discover in other countries .. Tell me which country in this world where you can see Lion Dance - Chinese, Kavadi Thaipusam - Indians , Hari Raya - Malays / Muslims , Christmas , Ester Day, Gawai Sarawak , the Sabah kadazans, the mamak restaurant etc etc ..are hillariously performed in public? They compliment each other like to get nasi lemak from Malays, to buy groceries or stuff at Chinese, to have roti canai , putu mayam from the Indians ...Hence....i miss Cendol so much 😭😭😭😘😘

The water under the waterfall used to be deep until they put concrete in it cos of accidents. Some tried climbing the rocks and fell cos its slippery. But then this was 20 years ago

Hi Khairi, that is interesting to know, thanks for sharing. We could see how it could get dangerous with heavier water flows.
