Manna Dey is the king of the kings of Song. I have no language to express my feelings about him. I pray to SHRI KRISHNA to keep him in HIS ANANTLOOK.

This Special Programme is a tribute to the legendary Manna Dey, born as Probodh Chandra Dey in an orthodox Bengali family on 1st May 1919. Blessed with a distinctly melodious voice, Manna Dey lent his immortal print on many a renditions. His popularity was not restricted to the geographical boundaries of India and his voice was worshiped in every nook and corner where an Indian heart stayed. He debuted in the film Tamanna in 1942, and went on to record more than 4000 songs from 1942 to 2013. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 1971, the Padma Bhushan in 2005 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2007. Manna Dey left for his heavenly above at 3:45 am on 24th October, 2013 at Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bengaluru leaving a void in the world of music.

Irfan Sir, I really wish we can do something more for our Legends. You are doing exceptional job. Please talk to them, search them, I know you are doing that, that is why I told you on twitter, "Oron mein aur aap me kya fark hoga" because you are doing wonderful job. I bow million times with all the humility in front of you and your team for all the work you are doing and not like others who just remember them after they are gone.
