Curious they say the shock is over damped. Couple times in the video footage the rear end bucked on roots. That usually means under damped.

You talked about the dvo and ohlins coil shock. So which one did you prefer, and how does the leverage curve play with coils?
@christopherjordan63806 жыл бұрын
Seems like every bike they ride comes down to "well this is the $8500 build so we were spoiled in many ways" you would think they would listen to themselves and the audience and ride the $4500 build and actually relate to the consumers.
@obi-wankenobi98716 жыл бұрын
Even for enthustiasts 4500$ is a fuck ton of money. I think It would be best if they looked at more 2500 to 3500$ bikes.
@christopherjordan63806 жыл бұрын
KZbin User I agree with that. I was just trying to be fair and split it in half but yeah an entry carbon build or high end AL build would speak to their audience a lot better
@NoBrakes236 жыл бұрын
Same thing happens when you go to a demo day. That $10,500 ENVE wheeled, XX1, primo carbon layup flagship is nice, but let me test the lower end stuff with SLX/XT, Alloy rims, and maybe the alloy frame that more closely represents the bike I would buy/build. On the other hand, when you take a motorcycle priced bike out for a demo, and it's so disappointing that you can't wait to get back to your $1300 hardtail, it gives you some interesting perspective.
@mtadams20096 жыл бұрын
Agreed, that is my price point, I could afford a more expensive bike but I am happy on a bike at that price point and I have kids schooling to pay for. 8,000 plus is crazy town, even my single friends and those who own bike shops don;t spend that kind of money.

Bro I just got back into MTB and the prices for bikes are outrages... I mean I'm not poor but I'm not rich either and god damn... 500 bucks doesn't buy you an okay bike (new) it buys you entry level and sometimes its pretty trash. So yeah it would be nice if they had a group that would also review entry/mid level bikes. SURE they aren't exciting like a bike with Ohlins suspension, SRAM Eagle X01 1x, etc etc, but I bit a good percentage of people watching these videos would appreciate it.

$9k bike, reviewers: ang, its a fun bike we had fun on it. LMAO. Me on my now vintage IRONHORSE WARRIOR review: insane bro, super sick, love it to death. LMAO. One man's point of view is another man's budget. Makes me think of that song "I want to be rich". Would I appreciate my bikes less if I was?

bitumen83 get an enduro then! 66 and less ha starts to suck at climbing!
@tamasvarga676 жыл бұрын
While the reach on paper is ~20mm shorter than average you need to factor in the 20mm setback seatpost which makes it OK. But that's where the problem starts - their seatpost is crap and the others are zero setback posts so if you replace it your bike will be short. Better to size up the frame but then the seat tube might be too long for a 150mm dropper.

Could you weigh these bikes? Maybe next time?
@captsnappy92206 жыл бұрын
Weighing a AM or Enduro bike is pretty much pointless. These are not 40 lb FR machines to start with. Unless it's a Trail or XC bike, and if it's carbon, their gonna come in around +/- 30 lbs depending on the spec level which changes everything.
@katietrotter93746 жыл бұрын
who cares what they weigh. some have integrated tools, all have different tires, etc. etc. the number being 29.8 or 31.2 won't make a difference

Pretty Shitty once again one of the best air shocks gets a bad review on another specialized. On a evil it's phenomenal, not sure why it doesn't feel the same on a specialized. I've owned both rock shox and fox and prefer the ohlins
@simonfarr86706 жыл бұрын
it's probably either the way Spesh had it tuned from Ohlins or the way the linkages interact with the shock. either is conjecture but it's the only answer that makes sense
@chawkins45ify6 жыл бұрын
Simon Farr makes sense. One of my buddies borrowed my stx22 and he had a 11-6, after riding the ohlins he ordered one and saves the 11-6 For shuttle or chunkier rides. I have a tuned dhx2 I do the same thing with. The ohlins makes the bike feel super playful
@thebouldbiker85526 жыл бұрын
look up leverage ratios and that explains why the same shock wont work the same on different bikes
