I like the idea of that dash serum. 👍 So many products I've tried will darken the dash but make it shiny. 😫 A product which darkens the plastics but leaves a matt finish is exactly what I've been looking for. 💯 😎

Good video Specky. Love the Garage Therapy products. In terms of the pre-rinse, after watching John's video at Forensic Detailing Channel, I now apply a citrus pre-wash and snowfoam to a dry panel. Leave to do their work, then rinse off. I follow the argument of not diluting them further. Each to their own though I guess.

Fit like. I agree with you on most of the points in this film and the products used but (using the Glasgow slang where a sentence ends in but). I like to use a citrus pre wash overlaid with Snow foam by my supplier of choice (M & K) but on a really dirty car I use their Snow foam with extra bite HD Snow with great effect. I can spend 3 hours discussing detailing with John and he is of the opinion that cars should be pre rinsed with water at the start of the process I was unsure on the dilution on contact of any products thereafter but as he said how much water is left on a well protected car by the time you put down your lance and pick up your spray bottle or pump sprayer. I am always worried that when you blast mud off a car are you rattling the grit along the paintwork causing scratches. With regards rinsing Snow foam off I am a top down man (as opposed to the "Taps Aff" method that is in favour around these parts when the sun shines and can be seen in any of the Parks around these parts) as when you work up to the top all the foam residue is back at the bottom and it needs going over again not needed as gravity aids washing in the top down method but I do see the logic in your method and sometimes I use it on the lower half off the car when it is dirtier and then switch to top down. With regards wheels, GT wheel shampoo is unrivaled but I now use M & K Strip on the tyres which has the same effect and characteristics as GT Decon. The yellow colour on the alloys I had on the Discovery Sport I bought, but in the barrels. The only product that removed it was WoWo's wheel cleaner which according to Fraser who owned the Company at the time had the all the characteristics of an acid but not the P.H. of an acid so no potential for damage especially to diamond cut alloys. GT serum is my tyre dressing of choice applied with the Carscope brush. The GT exterior products I used for at least a year and loved them but I am a huge wax fan and now that I am retired I can indulge my passion with no time restraints except daylight hours and rain but the time of year helps with both except this is the West of Scotland and it rains a lot. I usually detail my Mum's car in Banchory twice a year and due to time restraints I tend to use Sigma and CS on her car but I have not tried Sigma V2 which I believe is better according to David McBay. I really don't enjoy interior cleaning as much but my interior cleaner is GT interior topped with M & K Treat but that new GT product looks interesting its a pity GT don't do sample bottles as I might be interested in giving it a go. The Glass cleaner I tried and I rated it as my least favourite product in their lineup but maybe I should try it again and use their cloth can it be ordered direct from GT or is it only available from In2Detailing. My glass cleaner of choice is AutoBrite Glass cleaner but my exterior windscreen I use the M&K 3 step process of cleaner, polish and repellent. Angelwax H2Go is an excellent water repellent product that I also use I will stop rambling now as I am sure you have lost the will to live but again I look forward to your next installment as they are always enjoyable and thought provoking. Thanks again loon.

@Specky McSporran Do it!! 😀 For me personally I never pre-rinse the car as I notice the citrus or snowfoam slides off really fast. 🤔 The only time I pre-rinse is in the summer when the panels are warm to cool them down. I'm not too bothered about long dwell times in the warmer months as usually I'm only removing dust/sahara sand. 😁

Specky hello, been watching your videos. My gold ones are the prewash mentality. However i have a Q regarding the PIR and foam lance. So got a new one and went through the process to check the water required to empty my bottle. I notice that when added my solution took time wise more to empty the bottle in contrast when it was only water yes is bit more viscous but have you ever come across a similar observation on that. Cheers Hercules
@SpeckyMcSporran8 ай бұрын
Honestly that's a new one for me and I'm not sure I've heard anyone else mention it. Either the problem is unique to you/your setup or we've never really payed enough attention to compare. Viscosity COULD have an impact but without more study I can't be certain. I'll have to look into this one. Thanks for sharing this 👍🏻
@shrmtales8 ай бұрын
@@SpeckyMcSporran For me too since it is very noticeable. So the items i used was the MJCC pro v2 and a new soap that the viscosity is unreal. In comaprison to the BH Autofoam the new one is 5 times more thick i say thicker than dish wash soaps. The mark land was the differential speed at the nozzle been slower. i will to try to find a big plastic 200liter barel to empty one in it let it rest till the foam breaks down and measure again and compare the 2 data. Cheers for the reply, input and time to this Q

If you could let me know your findings after the test I'd greatly appreciate it. This is something worth looking into as all our calculations are based on the flow rate of water so this could have an impact on the industry as a whole.
