I tried the new fusso on my garage queen at the beginning of this year. I also put fusso 3 month wax over the top the following day, as I have done with the older 12month fusso. It’s definitely more user friendly than the older product. I took my car out over the weekend and found after 1 wash it doesn’t stand up as well to the elements as the older 12month does. Thankfully I still have the older version left.

Maybe leaving them for 24hrs after buffing before the torture test so Fusso could bond more with the clear coat would have given better test conditions. I have the previous dark version on my car and with a topper applied around 6 months back is still,performing great.I love the way that any beads from previous rainfall slide up the bonnet before Glaco kicks them of the glass 😄

Hi Specky,a interesting video about the Fusso sealant,to use a damp sponge would probably make it spread better over the paintwork.and the results are amazing, beading is brilliant.
@SpeckyMcSporran Жыл бұрын
It certainly surprised me!
@anguslean4058 Жыл бұрын
It absolutely does When you wet the applicator it keeps the sponge from absorbing the wax Also you have to apply this very thin The thinner the better One can should last between 25-30 applications Also when putting it on very thin it flashes much quicker which speeds up the whole process and avoids high spots and also the problem of removing it. Don’t let this wax sit for ten minutes It will be a nightmare to get off People think you have to put globs of this wax on It’s the exact opposite As for longevity I get between 9-12 months out of it It is hands down the best wax/sealant I have ever used Also when cured ( 24hrs ) you can top it with Fusso King of Gloss or Mirror Shine This adds more gloss and also protects the original coating Those toppers last about 3 months. I haven’t used the new Fusso but I do have 4 cans of the old Fusso. I am set for life.

with the older version I tended to use a microfiber applicator. Nowt fancy , just the type you used to get in Wilkos etc . Its only of those products everyone should try / have . My old cripe was the gloss levels aren't as high as other waxes they do so many would top with King of Gloss or as I had done Kiwami for that gloss punch . Did wonder and the dark n light versions but your only polishing the clear coat so would anything really effect that in any actual way ? Brilliant as always Specky and you have worked out the podcast and video timings to tally finally too 😊

I tried some of the new black formula today, unfortunately didn’t go smooth. I’m used to applying ceramic coats and pasty waxes but this feels very different. I applied as little as I could each time, shadow area, still ended up with many high spots! Not easy at all

@@SpeckyMcSporran I appreciate your quick answer! I did not, as the instructions didn’t say so! Do you think it won’t affect it’s performance being in contact with water?
@SpeckyMcSporran8 ай бұрын
It shouldn't make any impact as the water can't actually mix with the product without an emulsifier. The water simply helps the wax to spread more evenly without soaking too much into the applicator.

Hood was polished clayed and prepped before. Weather has been very hot summer heat and maybe 3 inches of rain in 3 months. Washed weekly with ph neutral soap. @peemick Жыл бұрын
nice. This is my favourite winter wax due to the durability, and it just about lasts a Scottish winter :) I was going to do a base coat of fusso topped with mirror shine, as I find Fusso can dull the shine one it fully cures. Top Tip, if you dress your plastics and rubber before applying this, it makes it easier to wipe off, if you put any on by mistake, as it can leave a white stain. I've been wondering if its better, or even possible, to apply this by 3 inch machine polisher (wet sponge) to get a thinner layer of product on there? Any thoughts?
@SpeckyMcSporran Жыл бұрын
Firstly I love the idea of dressing plastics first, makes a lot of sense! Waxing with a DA? I've definitely considered it but never actually tried, maybe something to try on the wife's car 🤣

@@kylem8811 Yes I don't think it matters personally, I was just making a comment that Soft99 had those instructions on the tin. I think it's the best wax in it's price range though, I use Fusso as a base coat, and put mirror shine on top for an even better gloss. Then after every wash, I spray on P&S beadmaker, just as a drying aid and topper. Probably overkill, but hey, you try all these different products out and find what works best for you, at the price you can afford I guess. Lots of these detailing product comparison videos make a massive deal about ease of use and price per 100ml or whatever, but in reality, if you're not a professional detailer and just doing it as a hobby on your own car, you're not really restricted by time, you can just potter about doing it all day, and if you're anything like me (and I think most hobby detailers are), they don't mind putting a bit of extra effort in once a week, if it means they have the glossiest, shiniest, and best looking car on their estate, or even in the whole town/city. Ultimately I think that's what all of use none-professional detailers really want, even it it takes a bit longer to do, and costs a little bit more 🙂
