F-15 Advanced Eagle II SPECTACULAR display

At last I witness my first F15 display! and I wasn't disappointed, The F-15QA represents one of the most advanced F-15 variants ever made incorporating more powerful engines, a digital fly by wire system, an advanced radar and additional weapons pylons. The advent of the fly by wire system has increased the aircrafts agility and allows aerobatic manoeuvres previously unavailable to the F-15, including the tail slide. The F-15QA has also formed the basis of the newest F-15s to be ordered by the USAF - the F-15EX Eagle II.

I have been a regular visitor to Lakenheath for a long time and see F-15E's nearly every visit. The F-15QA seems way more agile than a standard USAF F-15E. Very impressive. 👍

FBW doesn’t change the aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft, but makes it far easier for the pilot to tap the full potential. Plus it has far more thrust than an F-15C, and isn’t carrying around the CFTs that are normally on the mudhen

Its a got a lot more under the hood The F-15 Advanced variant replaces the mechanical hydraulics with a fully digital fly by wire resulting several hundred pounds in weight savings. Simply put, the aircraft becoming fully digital in all systems resulted in massive weight saving making it far more maneuverable Additionally, it uses more powerful engines The only oddities is that USAF should moved away from the 20mm M61 and equipped it with the newer 25mm GAU-22 Redesign the canopy for better visibility Adopted more design elements from the Silent Eagle including the conformal weapons bay as well as stealthy enclosed weapons pod from Advanced hornet allowing the F-15EX to fly near clean similar the F-22s and F-35s

I used to watch the Bitburg based F-15’s display at Milldenhall Airfete’s, always remember that at the end of their displays, they would “taxi” along the length of the runway with the nose up in the air. Unfortunately I can’t make it to Riat because of other commitments.

The last of the great analogue fighter airframes but with 40+ years of improvements culminating in this version with digital everything. I’ll never, ever, forget the first time I saw an F-15A over 40 years ago displaying the first time, it was brutal yet majestic at the same time. Those days display parameters were much more flexible and the pilot finished with a vertical climbing continuous roll to at least 25,000ft. It truly defied belief that a nearly 20 ton aircraft had that much grunt.

Not every station there was no center line pylon installed on this F-15 plus if you install CFT’s you would have even more stations. That’s one reason that makes the F-15 such a great fighter.
