To this day I'm not sure what happened to the film, but somehow it burned up right as the elevator drops. Boom. Movie over. The theater had to issue refunds and ticket passes to see a free movie another night. Even with that my dad was still pissed off that we only saw 10 minutes of the movie. Unless the movie was dirt cheap my dad would rather rent movies or buy blank tapes and record them off of cable channels than buy movies new. He bought Speed on VHS the opening week. He still has that tape in his VHS collection by the TV. It's one of my favorite movies to this day. Also I have it on Blu-Ray with a special Deadpool slipcase promoting Deadpool 2.

When Sandy B and Keanu were doing the promotion circuit before the movie was released, Sandy B was on Ellen and Ellen asked her if She and Keanu dated. She replied that they had not but that she had a major crush on him throughout the filming. Keanu was on another talk show a few days later and the host of that talk show played back that part of Sandy B's interview for Keanu to see and then asked Keanu if he knew that Sandy B had been crushing on him. His reply was that he had no idea until just now but that he had been crushing on Sandy B as well during the filming. No one gives Johnny Mnemonic enough credit as one of Keanu's awesome 90s action flicks.

I saw this movie 3x in the theater when it was released(I can count one one hand how many times I ever did that), and not because it was the best movie I had ever seen, but because it was an amazing roller coaster ride.

I was 12 when this movie came out. It was one of those surprise great iconic movies. Still holds well to this day. Watching it with you guys as i make and eat breakfast was exciting, and yet you guys reminded me of all the nostalgia of living in the moment of the release of this movie. My living situation, me thinking i was bad ass on my bike or roller blades having the action theme song playing in my mind. Every commentary you guys had of this movie's greatness made my eyes swell up. Im a sucker for great things being made or accomplished and that stands the test of time and handed down to generations that will have the same acknowledgement and respect. Mix that with pop culture and nostalgia and i turn to spaghetti.

Someone may have answered this already, but Sandy Bullock was also in a little known movie before this and Demolition Man called Love Potion No. 9, with Tate Donavon.

Everyone has a heart attack at the baby carriage. And then overwhelming relief when they see the cans. 😅😂

Keanu actually did the stunt jumping from the car to the bus!

It never stops to amaze me how many top online movie reviewers have not seen such obviously classic films 🤔🤣

I’m commenting on the popped bus tire. I think one of them said something about “flat”. The tire blew out all of its air completely when it hit the spikes. But the rear axle is a dual or “dually” axle where you have two tires in tandem on each side/hub. So there’s now more pressure on the tire next to the blown tire but everything’s still rolling along. The big problem is the blown tire will probably begin to fall apart from bouncing around because it’s come off the bead of the wheel/rim. And I’d it’s a recap tire, well, don’t even get me started on recaps vs. virgins.
