As I have over 150 models to paint I decided to start painting the horde of green skins first to get them out of the way. It also gives me an opportunity to ease back into the hobby and improve.
I start by painting a single Grot/Gretchin to figure out what colour scheme to use and also get my head around how highlighting/glazing/dry brushing and stippling work. I've been watching a lot of mini painting tutorials on here and by no means do I claim to be an expert. It is the first time I use my airbrush on any minis and I'm also very new to a wet palette so I am very much a noob.
Here is my method which I then applied to 11 other Gretching to get me started and I was pleasantly surprised how fast this actually ended up being.
Best tip I've seen is WATER DOWN YOUR PAINTS!
Let me know what you think in the comments, I know I could work into these a lot more but with the number that I need to do I am happy with the level of detail on the final models. I am keen to improve my painting but presumably... I'll only get better with time right?
DISCLAIMER - Sorry about the blurriness at times, I will also get better at filming whilst I paint... this is also part of the learning curve.
Some of the Grots are from Gear Guts Mekshop and can be found here geargutsmeksho...
