Hi, are you willing to share this material to review it for one of my projects I have to do something similar. I will be infinitely grateful. Thank you in advance.

Hi! I actually haven't made the switch to Adobe yet, but I'm going to sign back up soon. Could you reach out on discord at homemech#7937 so I don't forget?

Hey, Fellow artist here working for the FOSS game 0 A.D. (play0ad.com), Quick (silly) question Once you get this result which is really nice btw (Well done !) how do you apply it correctly to a model ? Best regards, Stan

Thank you! That's awesome on 0 A.D., I love Age of Empires :D I also do historical reconstruction work on Rome around ~320 CE. I textured the whole Roman Forum last Fall and am working on making common marbles in Substance Designer. To your question, I would bring this material and my fairy model into Substance Painter to do the work on the UV-unwrapped model. I export the material images from there to bring into Unity. Unity as of this date understands the .sbsar file you can export from Substance Designer. Unity will show the materials in the project panel you can drag onto your model. Soon there will be a Substance plug-in from the asset store that will allow for live updating between the programs. In other words, something you paint/design you can immediately see in your Unity scene. Hope that helps!

Home Mech So you you would paint only using a part of the diffuse to avoid the square borders ? Would you mind recording the process ? :) Glad you like our game :) If you feel like improving some of our textures for practise go ahead :D

Yes, as of now (still learning things!) I would probably export two materials (or expose the parameter to switch to full diffuse/wing structure) and use the second or duplicate to paint around the edge of the wings. I also might expose the parameter of the initial alpha mask to maybe drop in an alpha of dragonfly wings. I will certainly try to record it! I'd love to send some materials/textures your way when I graduate school in a couple months.

Home Mech Great news! I'll wait for the video then. Good luck with your graduation I'm close to mine too :) If you want to send textures you might want to do it in relation with 0 A.D. :)
