Is the 2014 - 2015 Infiniti Q50 worth buying in 2022? How about 2023?? Much has changed in the automotive world over the last 7 years, but has my opinion about the Q50 3.7? Let’s look at the pros and cons of this platform now after having owned this car for a number of years as well as taking into consideration what the market has brought us over the last 18 months.

Im a Crown member and founder for GQVQS Central florida chapter so I pretty much am surrounded by a bunch of Infinitis on my free time lol, A handful of our members are 3.7's including myself and weve all had slightly different experiences with it. However all in all the engine is pretty much bullet proof, I just hit 100k recently on mine and the only major issue was the valve body going out on me. Theres some small issues that I notify every 3.7 hr owner I meet because iv yet to see a 3.7 without it unless they already fixed it. Im personally torn because im looking into selling before I get more mileage on it to eventually either get a 3.0 or another 3.7 since I still love the platform. I bought mine back in either 2019 or 2020 with about 60k miles so far the market is shooting up for my vehicle but dont want to have to wait 3+ years in order to get another one 😢.

Great video and overall, I really like my 2014 Q50S (90k miles) except for the break noise when I back up the car. I was told that it is a normal occurence with Q50s by the dealer and heard it's also common for Q50 cars driven in Florida. Would appreciate your thoughts.

I actually opted to get a 3.7 cause of your videos and here’s my take. I hang out with a lot of other Infiniti owners so I’ve been able to see 2.0T’s/3.0T’s, if you can opt for the sport. It’s minimal but the sport bumper just has a more aggressive look and brakes look better. On warm days my stock 3.7 will easily take out a 3.0T, now cold days different story, but it’s not by a lot. The interior to a 2022 isn’t honestly not that different. Sure there are things the display can do that mine can’t but it’s very little and wasn’t a deal breaker. Stock 3.7 can outrun a lot of vehicles out right now. I’m surprised the vehicles I’ve been able to beat. It’s a solid car. Also a lot of friends have all blown turbos on their 17-20 Q’s. Oh and we don’t have to worry about heat soaking or the engine getting too hot. My take as a 3.7 owner I’m in love and wouldn’t have chosen anything else

In the market for a Q50 with the 3.7, would prefer the sport but wondering if it’s worth the extra money since there’s a lot more base/premium ones for sale out there. Are there any big differences or is it just the front bumper and bigger brakes (which can be changed aftermarket anyway)?

Here's my story: Bought a brand new 2014, AWD 3.7, kept it 9 years. 60,000 Mi. Maintenance ($) at dealership was insane. Passenger air bag warning always ON since '21 ( couldn't fix it) rattle at idle ( subframe vibration, they said, couldn't fix it). Had to replace most expensive part of muffler (middle part) ( no aftermarket available) / 2 rear shocks (no aftermarket available).. Muffler and shocks,3,000$ in repair last summer. TRADED it for a top trim G70. But all in all, it was a great car, great highway cruiser.

In 2016 when I bought my used 2013 G37xS sedan I was 31 and confident it was an older person who leased it for its first 3 years. In 2022? All the lease returns that are "supposed to have been well maintained" are 3.0T models. Turbo in a daily? Nah. So you're right, getting a reliable 3.7 model from Infiniti's golden era comes down to vehicle history now. I would buy a known quantity (records) that is 6-8 years old over an unknown turbo car that is 3-4-5 years old. Manufacturers took BMW's cue from the 2000's and are now building in heavy vehicle repairs in their business models.

Price is a little high in my area, but wouldn't surprise me if you were in NY or Cali. My Car has 102k miles and I've got a leaky valve cover gasket. My breaks started squealing/grinding on my last ride so it's parked for abt a week till I can change them out. Other Than that, I've only replaced all 3 of my air filters, and cleaned the terminals of my battery once. Oh yeah, for some reason my back up camera flipped on me and it's now a mirror image so it's useless because it's more confusing than helpful. I haven't been able to figure out how to flip it back or why it's happened 🤔. I've had it for a bit over 2 years, it's been a great car so far.

@@countinguh it’s a car that has been either declared a total loss for a insurance company because of a accident. If you’re going for something that has a salvage title it’s going to be hard to put insurance on it because the car has already been declared a total loss once so they don’t want to risk that again. People salvage title cars or rebuilt cars because they are cheaper but it comes with a cost of maybe not being able to get insurance and it’s hard to sell them back.
