At this past Awesome Games Done Quick, $1,025,000 was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It only took a week of continuous streaming, 18,000 donors, and many many runners to achieve. A big thanks to everyone responsible for these amazing numbers, what a humbling achievement. For comparison, last year's event raised just under $500,000.

He also lost $80 of his own dollars betting him he couldn't achieve certain goals. I see it as friends having fun playing a game. No harm no foul. If anything the playfulness made the run better to me.

Depends on the game. Screwing up a race in F-Zero isnt bad, but when you mess up softlocking a game in the middle of a 3 hour run and still have like 1 hour of air time to fill, you're just fucked ^^

For those whom never played or new to FZERO franchise at 16:54 or most replayed area. AS A CASUAL, if you miss one capsule you won't make it since you need a boost. It'll just close and kill you at 00 (You can actually see it close on CGN too and he barely squeezed in) CGN is momentum boosting so he has enough speed to make it through which is why anyone whom played FZERO GX probably cheered

I remember HATING Chapter 5 Very Hard when I was younger, so seeing it destroyed like that was so satisfying. I remember I once got to the end with exactly 0 seconds. That kills you. (by that point, the final door is closed so much you can't jump through) Yeah, it's that unforgiving. There's NO margin for error.

+BigKlingy I remember when I was little and my sister beat it... we were extremely excited and happy because it was such a frustrating chapter. In my not so fuzzy memory, there really was NO error in what she did, and in all her previous tries she always hit something or did something wrong. I'd say chapter 5, 1, 7 and the final one are the most frustrating and hard because there is no luck involved, at least in three of them. But even if this game is frustrating, hard, unforgiving, etc, it's what makes it good, because none of it is unfair, plus it controls and plays splendidly.

Honestly, chapter 6 was my bane as a kid. Thankfully, unlike chapter 5, you technically have some leeway in that the bomb doesn't instantly detonate. I crossed the finish line with 1 second left on the bomb.

Chapter 4 is much worse imo, it's the one that took me the most time to beat by far, because the same thing never happens twice in that one.

I love F-Zero GX, have played it for years. I've only completed like 3 missions on Very Hard, and 7 and 5 were not among them. I still consider this game's story mode the hardest game I've ever played, and it's mainly because of how hard the CPUs in story mode cheat. Watching this was incredible.

Yeah that definitely happens. There are parts of certain tracks where's extremely easy to shift boost, such as start of Red Canyon and start of the track in chapter 9. You should always go for them since they're at the start of the lap, if you're mad, do them laps 2 and especially 3. At least momentum throttle is an extremely easy trick to pick up and will improve your play by just boosting as normal.

Playing it now as an adult is a lot of fun and I learned to do some of these tricks but watching CGN pull them off so consistently in a marathon was just unreal to watch. This was one of the most entertaining speedruns I've seen and I don't think I have seen another one that had more cheering. Definitely have to practice more to be part of this speedrunning community..jeez

Other than the goofs on Chapter 2 and 9, this run was legendary. Giving Deathborn a 26-second head start and then crushing him? Loved it. I only wish that the runner played the goofy cutscenes, even if it lost time.

AGDQ 2014 was the best GDQ. Not sure if the last great one, there was some good moments in later ones, but this GDQ just has so much good stuff about it including this run, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark Perfect Agent, and much more.
