Low effort high yield is pretty hard to beat if you paint to play.

Dude, this looks so good! As you said not so hard, until you go to the oils, that is. For true speed, I'll prob just stop at that point. Nice vid 🙂

Love that paint scheme, man. Really suits those minis and I'm so with you on oil washes and pigment powders. Glad to see some Empire stuff too. Getting a bit burned out on Bretonnians.

Thanks! Yeah Brets can be a little like that, especially if you're doing individual heraldry on each 😬😅

When examining the pros and cons of subscribing to a youtube channel, there are many factors to consider: inspiration, entertainment, personalities, and economic benefits are just a small selection of the nearly limitless criteria that could come into play. In order to properly determine which factors one should consider, a KZbinr user needs to first answer what they want. In this case, we are to consider whether we should subscribe to a painting/miniature channel. In such a scenario, the most pressing considerations would be inspiration potential, types of miniatures being painted, the skills that could be gained, and the entertainment value of the creator. First, the inspiration potential. This consideration is the most double-edged when it comes to content creation online. On one hand, a good creator can inspire the viewer to commit to new heights of creation on their own; on the other, a good creator can instill hobby paralysis as viewers become locked in a cycle of comparing themselves to the creator. While there is no objective criteria for such a consideration, the subjective risk is something that should not be overlooked. In this case, the risk may be worth it, but further research would be required in order to adequately provide an answer. Second, the types of miniatures being painted. Traditionally, a similar pool of miniatures (be that sourced by genre, setting, or some other method) is useful when determining if one should subscribe to a content creator. In this case, the creator’s Warhammer painting, Lord of the rings painting, and cyberpunk miniature painting covers a wide range of miniature. As such, this consideration could be considered safely met. Third, the skills that could be gained. Stippling tips, basing tutorials, speed painting, and freehand are all excellent skills for any painter. However, the skills available to the viewer should be considered carefully, as there is a wide breadth of tutorials and content involving improving painting online. While the particular range of skills on display may be limited by the relatively low number of videos, there is something to be gained by following a creator when they are new or restarting, as getting in at the ground floor is frequently beneficial in and of itself, especially in the sense of viewing the evolution of a creator’s skills over time. Finally, the entertainment value of the creator. In this case, the entertainment value would be based on the personality of the creator, quality of their content, and skill on display. Entertainment value is purely subjective, so should be considered in a case-by-case scenario. Quality of content is objectively high, given the sound balancing, picture quality, and editing. Finally, the skill on display is also solid, being notably better than the average wargame enthusiast. Given the above considerations, the question of whether or not to subscribe is inherently limited by the fact that this viewer was assigned homework, and chose to take a “please subscribe” skit literally, and wrote out a 500 word essay. 11/10 good times, nice tutorial brah.

What dark steel color did you use on the knight? Doesn't seem to be the Steel color from Vallejo
@dannypaints
@dannypaints 2 ай бұрын
It's 'Vallejo Metal Colour - steel ', not to be confused with the regular range of paints, which also have a steel colour. The metal colour range are in the bigger bottles and are usually a fair bit more expensive 😭 I usually drop it out on to my palette and then wait 5 or so minutes for it to dry just a little, if you use it straight away it has less coverage and is a little thinner. Then of course the oil wash makes it even dirtier and darker
