I sold High performance racing parts to speed shops for a while & gravitated towards MOPAR guys... I've sold many brake packages of all types & the feedback I received from my Customers across the board was that pad break in was slightly more extensive than prescribed instructions... It usually entailed factory break in and 25-50 normal city/highway stops...All resins have burned off by then...

Did you know the 2017 Hellcat has a different Dipstick and holds a quart more oil? No other parts are different just the dipstick. So I got the 2017 dipstick and added another quart of oil. These cars do use oil so I think it its a good Idea to have a little extra. Also it seems to take about 25 mins for the oil level to register properly in my car. The brake caliper center support bolt is 22ftlbs.

Same guy that admires your basically everything here. Commenting with a different channel. I have a 19 hellcat and was scared to drain the oil cooler. I thought it would starve the engine for a second more than I'd like. I usually fill the oil filter with oil and thought emptying the oil cooler would be the same as not filling the oil filter. Dry start up bad.

Totally, the wrong oil filter. Yet, I have found that STP has/had two different filters that will fit the vehicle. I like the K&N filters best, yet I kind of use what I could get my hands on. I change my oil often. Also, I like ceramic pads which has less brake dust. Like the oil I change my brake pads often. Yet, I'm in the midwest I suggest checking your brembo pads and operation of same every 6 months at least. By the way, nice video. 😊

Hey man I have a 2016 Challenger Hellcat. Changing the oil soon. Only question I had is where exactly are all 10 of those push pins located? That’s the only thing I’m kind of worried about lol because I don’t want to miss any. The rest of the 10/7 MM seem pretty straightforward. Get back to me if you can thank you! Great video 👍🏾

Thank you for the reply I was able to complete it successfully with the help of your vid! Do you have the specific race ramps these are In your video or a link of them by chance? I have a stock 16 challenger hellcat and I’m looking into race ramps that won’t damage or scrape the car/front splitter since it’s pretty low. Jacking the car up is sort of a pain. Much appreciated if you could reply again thank you 🙌🏽

@SpeedysGarage7 жыл бұрын
I would not recommend anything but a true track pad for road course track days. These cars weigh 4500 pounds and I'd question even the stock pads being enough. I was able to EASILY cause fade on the STOCK pads after 3-4 consecutive hard stops as you could see from the tests each stop got longer with Z26 and Stock Brembo pads ending up almost the same distance in the end.

@SpeedysGarage5 жыл бұрын
That's all gimmicky contract stuff between manufacturers unfortunately. Chrysler had a deal with Mobil1 for their oil. When FCA took over they had a deal with Shell (Penzoil) and changed the specs etc.

Yeah the warranty stuff is disappointing for FCA. I've heard of them voiding guys warranties for not changing the oil every 6 mos as well. Makes me wonder what happens to a warranty on a car that sits on the lot for more than 6 mos. SMH.

mobile 1 over purolater any day! ebc red stuff pads over any other pads any day too! hawk pads are awesome but have noise issues.
@SpeedysGarage7 жыл бұрын
Meh, Mobil 1 is "OK" but over priced IMO. I did extensive testing on a throw away car over a 4 year period with extended drain intervals using Purolator PureOne filters including Blackstone oil analysis against Mobil1 and others, and results were better with the Purolator. Not by much, but still. Considering the Purloator PureOne filter is half the price of the Mobil1 and tested out better, it's a no brainer. I have EBC Redstuff pads on another car, and they do work well, but generate more dust than the Z26 Powerstops.
@pimpbillson847 жыл бұрын
I can agree that mobile1 is over priced. I've been lucky to have it in a local wally world cheap so i stocked up. I've never been a fan of the purolator filters as I too have noticed that they are thinner in size than oem. The same was true for my impala, my r/t magnum, and 300. I didn't do any oil analysis but I did notice I needed to change the oil a bit earlier. I moved on to wix filters and amsoil filters and oil. So far ok but nothing id push on others. I just can't see me going back to purolator filters. As for the EBC reds after my initial "brake-in" period I haven't had much dusting. my wheels are painted white so I must be lucky there lol. Also its a family car so it doesn't get the speed demon abuse so that could also be it. However they stop smoother and make less noise and dust than the old hawk performance pads and definitely oem. I will give the z26s a try out in the future.
@SpeedysGarage7 жыл бұрын
On this Hellcat, I called Purolator to find out what is up with the filter. The guy is check, but suspects a wrong P/N is being published. PL12222 is a small filter with the same thread. PL24651 is a MUCH larger filter and what I used on the old 2009 R/T Challenger. I'm betting that is the proper P/N for the Hellcat and just waiting on them to confirm.

Z26 pads are biggest piece of shit pads on this planet! I have SRT392 and have tried them for 6 months...you do not get any break dust but very dull bite, and they create hot spots on my rotors that are visible and on top of that they are super dangerous when wet. Driving for 20min on the highway in pouring rain (pads are soaked and cold) and then apply break ...no bite for like second or 2...unacceptable. Now I tried Raybestos Element3 pads P/N: ETH1405 and they are way better than Powerstops, not scary moments when wet and no dust at all. They are also G rated but initial bite is not as crazy as Brembo original pads but they are somehow good...but at this point starting to loose hope for perfect pad that does not dust. So next time I think I'm going back to dusty brembo pads...I love that crazy initial bite that throws you on the front windshield :-)

Mine have done OK, not hot spots, and I've not had problems in the rain, however I do agree on the initial bite. Wish it had more.
