Hello Dave. Quick question. In Part 8 video, when I am selecting a flight mode switch, and clicking on FM Channel, if gear is not being used, then you suggest select Gear. However, if I am using Gear for retracts, what FM Channel should I select? Hope that’s clear. Great videos and so helpful. Thanks. Bob

Hello Dave, thanks for the next instalment. I’m looking forward to getting anAR637T and using your series to assist me in setting it up. Whilst writing I have an issue with my AR636 setups you may be able to shed some light on. I am flying planes with DX8G2 and AR636. I have them set up with safe select on switch B, and panic on the bind button I. All aspects work fine except when I try a range test. I go to function list - range test and press the button I get no movement of flying surfaces even when standing right by the plane. If I delete all reference to the panic mode in the setup for the rx and the tx, the range test works perfectly. I am using Safe Model Builder and the Spektum Programmer to set up my AR636 receivers. As I actually never use the panic button, preferring to switch to safe mode if I get disoriented, I don’t really need the panic mode so flying without it is no problem. However I know that planes bought with preset safe select and panic do not have this issue, so I am wondering why it’s happening? Any advice much appreciated. Best wishes, James. Sent from my iPad
@TheRCAirMarshall4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if you use the I button to actuate Panic it doesn’t work as expected for range checks. What I do is I go into channel select and set the channel I have the I button on to inhibit. Do my range check, and then reassign the I button to the channel.

Thanks Dave for an excellent course in setting up the AR637T. I have followed your videos and have successfully set up my new plane. Can you tell me the difference between the AR630 and the AR637T please? Apart form the AR630 being slightly less expensive. I've recently discovered following the purchase of the iX20 that many of my existing receivers are not compatible! Hence the need to maybe buy some new ones soon. But which one? Thanks again.
@TheRCAirMarshall3 жыл бұрын
You’re very welcome! So big items the AR630 is missing... 1) AR637T offers full range telemetry, the AR630 is only fly-by and only works from about 100 yards away. 2) The AR637T has an on board barometric altimeter which you can use to provide altitude via telemetry as well as set up a Vario. The AR637T has two full length diversity antennas that you can place anywhere you want, where the AR630 only has a single internal antenna which is only good for smaller 3S airplanes in my opinion. The AR637T has an SRXL2 port which allows connection to satellite receivers or channel expanders. And lastly the AR637T includes X Bus which is for connection of a variety of telemetry sensors. As far as AS3X and forward programming go, they are identical. In fact, the AR637T/8360T/631/630 all program the same.

@@TheRCAirMarshall Great, many thanks. That's exactly what I wanted to know. It looks like I am going to have to replace many of my existing Spektrum receivers as the ix20 doesn't seem to link up with them and the servos in the plane pulse all the time. I have 2 x AR637T so if I do have to replace any, I shall do so by purchasing the AR637T now that you have helpfully explained the difference between this and the AR630. I have a selection of Spektrum receivers including AR600, AR636, AR610, AR6210, AR 8010T . SO it may be an expensive issue replacing these unless HH come up with a fix? If the AR636 proves to be compatible with the iX20, can I use Forward Programming to set it up from the TX or will I have to revert to the previous method using iPhone or PC? Many thanks
@TheRCAirMarshall3 жыл бұрын
You can not use forward programming for an AR636. You have to use either a PC or the mobile app. The 636 should work fine with your iX20, if it’s having issues I would get in touch with Horizon tech support.

Greetings from Guatemala! HAPPY EASTER! Many thanks for the series on the AR637T. I have a NX10 transmitter. I have programed several models with AS3X and SAFE with no problem. With my las model, I have run into a difficulty I cannot solve. I have assigned the Safe Mode to switch B using Channel 7 as I have done with all previous aircraft but this time it only displays FLIGHT MODE 2 instead of toggling between modes 1-2-3- according to the selected position on switch B. I have tried to reset the RX to the original factory settings, but the problem persists. Any suggestion is mor than welcomed. Carlos

Thanks for the excellent tutorial. I am a bit stuck with knowing how to have the Monitor screen display all the channels that I am using. Although I have set up my Flight Mode switch to be B and use channel Aux 5, Aux 5 does not appear in the monitor. I'm trying to follow your guidance to programme multiple flight modes but am stuck now that I can't see Aux 5? There must be a way to tell the Monitor which channels are being used?

And how many total channels are you using for the airplane itself?
Okay, so two ailerons on independent channels, throttle, elevator, and rudder? No flaps, no retracts? So 5 channels total?

Thanks for your videos on the 637T.. I'm a little confused on the flight mode setups.. I have a DX8. Can I assign switch C (for example) my mode 1,2,and 3 using Aux7 or 8? 1 thru 6 are all used.. 5 for gear and 6 for flaps..

So on the AR637T we lose a channel to the FM channel? I liked AR636 much better where it could have channels 5 to 9 as digital channels. This is a step back if the case with AR637T. I think they have removed a major plus by removing that capability.
@TheRCAirMarshall4 жыл бұрын
The AR637T can listen on up to 12 channels if your transmitter supports it. I used the gear channel for the Flight Mode switch on here because the airplane I was installing it in didn’t have a retractable gear. I could have used Aux2 through Aux 7, just used the first available free channel. No stepping backwards 👍
@Flight66774 жыл бұрын
@@TheRCAirMarshall OK that's great. So I can still use a digital channel? Its not clear to me. Thanks!

Hi Dave how are you? Question, I have a 6 channel receiver and a DX9 when I set up the flight mode switch I use the channel 6 which is the only channel that is not in use, if I want to install a brake system can I move the flight mode to a different channel? Or it needs to be on one of the channels on the receiver? Thank you
@TheRCAirMarshall4 жыл бұрын
Is this specifically with an AR637T? The thing to keep in mind is while the AR637T has a 6 channel “mouth” and can only talk to 6 servos at a time, it has 12 channels of “ears” and can listen on any channel up to AUX7. You can use digital INPUTS on any channel up to Aux 7 for things like gain control and flight modes
@rexramos10904 жыл бұрын
@@TheRCAirMarshall thanks for enlighting me about the channels learning new things everyday. I am using an AR630, so I can just move the FM channel to Aux 5 for example so I can use the channel 6 of the receiver? Did I understand it correctly? Thank you
@TheRCAirMarshall4 жыл бұрын
Yes, as long as you’re using a transmitter that supports that many channels. Just because the receiver can listen doesn’t mean the transmitter can talk. If you have a DX8, for example, it can only transmit up to Aux 3
@jtepsr3 жыл бұрын
if you designated switch b, gear chan, which is only 2 position switch, how do you have 3 flight modes on it.
@TheRCAirMarshall3 жыл бұрын
The gear channel isn’t tied to any particular switch. On my iX12 I did have the gear channel paired up with Switch B, however, on almost every Transmitter with 8+ channels the B switch is indeed three position. But for the purpose of this discussion, just keep in mind I can assign any switch I want to any channel I want. I’m not necessarily tied to using switch B with the gear channel.
@websoftpr14 жыл бұрын
Hello, if I cycle Switch B to FM2 and FM3 it has no effect on this screen, I can hear the FM changes and see on home screen of radio chamging, but on F-Mode Setup screen does not change. I have available AUX2 and have assign to switch B.
@TheRCAirMarshall4 жыл бұрын
Javier Ramos hi, if you’re using the transmitter flight mode to change the AR637T flight modes, you will need to go to channel assign and assign AUX 2 to Flight Mode or FM instead of Switch B. Let me know if that solves your issue!

Hi Dave, great videos you are putting out. I have a question, I have a DX6e just got the AR637t and I want put in a Flyzone aircraft. I updated the transmitter with your help but now I don’t know or not understanding when comes to the Forward Flight process. It’s not on the screen of the DX6e. Am I missing something. All other videos I found are just using the ix12, which I see is super easy. Help.

@TheRCAirMarshall4 жыл бұрын
Cool. Do you have the AR637T bound to the transmitter, and all your control surfaces are working okay? For forward programming to show up you need to have the receiver powered up and bound to the transmitter. Get the model fully set up, all your servos are moving as expected, travels are good, dual rates and expo is good, and you need to set up a throttle cut switch as well. Then you can click the scroll wheel once and you should see an option show up called “Forward Programming”
@gregsmith87484 жыл бұрын
The RC Air Marshall , no I haven’t bound it to the transmitter yet. I will do that and setup the aircraft and I will get back with you an let you know how it turns out. I thought that once you update the software, the Forward Flight would be on the screen. I’ll go through the process and let you know. Thank you so much. Appreciate it.
@TheRCAirMarshall4 жыл бұрын
Gotcha. The forward programming interface is actually built into the receiver, so unless you are bound and connected to the receiver, it won’t show up.

Dave, I have the ix12 and when going into FM Channel and change the switch for Flight Mode away from switch B I am only getting flight mode 2 and 3. When flipping the switch even though the audible indicates the correct switch position AS3X is always on. The AR637T receiver has v 2.34.01. If I change the FM Channel back to switch B everything seems to work properly with turning on and off AS3X. Any suggestions as to what is happening?
